I was impressed with how matter-of-fact the relationship was portrayed (in the context of a primetime TV drama/melodrama. On one episode, when his partner finally gives in to his pleas that they have or adopt a child, Bucatinksy's character expresses his gratitude by dropping to his knees...and it's pretty obvious what's going on.
