Ah, Mercure. You really can't go wrong. This one is a bit out of town, but has all the amenities, including wifi, gym, outdoor pool, and kitchenettes for when you want to have coffee in your jammies. And as you'd expect, the rooms are tasteful and modern.

As its name would suggest, this hotel has a Japanese theme throughout, including on the menu at the on-site Toya Restaurant, which also offers 24/7 room service. There's free wifi, an amazing breakfast spread, and a VERY small indoor pool more for soaking than swimming laps. Nikko is right in the middle of the gayborhood, too.

The Mabu Royal has suites with Hawaiian, Arabian and Indian themes; it's more of a throw pillow here and there rather than full immersion, though. In any case, they are clean and well-designed, and the hotel has valet parking, wifi, a heated pool, and 24/7 room service.

The Golden Star is close to a cruising park and tons of shopping, which is more or less the best thing about it. It's perfectly functional and a good deal, but there are nicer hotels on the list. However, it does have free wifi, buffet breakfast, and a decent cable TV selection.

We'll give you one guess who frequents this bar. Yep, it's the bears! And the otters who love them, as well as various others. This bar can sometimes be quiet and sometimes rocking out with electro grooves, so pick your night wisely or head out to the garden for a bit of quiet and fresh air. Inside it can get hot, and not just temperature; the bar actively encourages bathroom hijinx.

Gorgeous boys abound here, and when there's not top-notch live music, the DJ keeps them grooving. It's more of a music-focused club than a cruising bar, although the early hours are pretty chilled out for a bit of flirting and your best chance of getting in, as the line gets LONG outside this small joint later on.

Bar Code wants so badly to be a legit nightclub, but it's a bar that has music and dancing. You'll find all manner of gays here, from twinks to bears, and lots of action although it's not a cruising bar either. Just a lot of fun guys on the make.

The DJ takes center stage here, with a rotating list that gets the crowd jumping. And what a crowd it is from hipsters to Muscle Marys, there's something for everyone at Black Box. If you like to get your dance on when you're out and about, this is THE place to be in Curitiba.

Weekends are packed here, but even during the week there's always quite a scene. It's quite cruise-y, with the bathroom doubling as a dark room with the actual dark room gets too crowded. The music leans toward classics and singalong hits, which go over big with the drag queens. This is a raucous, gay old time!

This two-story affair is always hopping, whether it's from the music or the outrageous drag shows. Note that on Sundays starting in late afternoon, the downstairs rooms host an under-18 gay party; alcohol during this time is only available on the upper floor. But no matter when you go, this place gets temperature hot really quick, so dress light.

Cats Club is a gay bar, but is popular with the breeders as well as drag queens and go-go boys in cages! Weekends are the time to go, and the dark room is the place to hit before heading to the dance floor.

This massive space holds a mess o' gays, from drag divas to Muscle Marys, as well as a bit of a mixed crowd (comprised mostly of fag hags). There are loose theme nights, but really, it's all about the DJ spinning tunes for the masses.

The main draw of Studio 1001 is not the dance floor or the bar, but the 15 private cabins available for patrons. So, as you can imagine, there's a decent cruising scene here come prepared to hook up.

VU has a bar area that's separate from the dance floor, so it's a good place to try out if you like to talk as well as get your groove on. But with the low ceilings and the only air coming from wall-mounted fans, you might want to cut your time a bit short here as it gets HOT.

This presents itself as a sauna, but the facilities are an afterthought; they have them, but the real scene here are the rent boys waiting for you some say it's a bigger rent boy scene than any other sauna in Curitiba. There are rooms available, and stripper shows, and a full bar.

This is the top sauna in Curitiba as far as facilities go; it's clean and modern, and the rooms for rent also have showers. But the rent boy scene is not the best, so you may want to go elsewhere for that but make sure to check out the dark room before you write it off completely.

There is no rent boy scene here to speak of, but the facilities include a cinema room, a dark room, and private rooms. You'll find all ages here, but like we said, no rent boys.

An older clientele comes here, which draws younger lads as well although note that this is billed as a hetero sauna as well, so just keep an eye out before approaching. That being said, a metric ton of action goes down here, between the dark room and the private cabins and the steam room and the bar... you get the idea. Let's just say the sauna isn't the only hot spot in this place.

This being Brazil, the menu is heavy on the meat, but they have a mix-and-match pasta and sauce menu that ensures you create the perfect meal.

Cantina do Delio is the kind of place where you'd expect to see somebody's nonna in the kitchen stirring the sauce; it's authentic in a different, and ultimately more comforting way than Barolo, with traditional dishes that will have you pining away for Il Bel Paese.

The prime cruising spot in town, this lush park has enough foliage that you can find a private spot almost anywhere. Those of you who like the beauty of youth will want to go later in the day; if married men are your thing, head there in the mornings.

Another popular cruising area, note that this is also the bus terminal, so not everyone is looking for the kind of good time you're willing to give them. Most of the action happens in or near the bathrooms.

4 Bosque do Papa | Rua Euclides Bandeira

These woods behind the Civic Center offer trails for walking and bathrooms for cruising, found behind the gift shop. It's surprisingly packed with cruisers, but only during the week.

5 Praça Osório

This town square is a landmark and meeting point in town, but it's the bathroom in the square where you'll want to turn your amorous attention. It may seem a little exposed to those less brave among us, but there are often markets and fairs in the square that provide relatively decent cover to get your cruise on.

6 Passeio Publico

While this is a legit cruising area, it's not so much a sex area; first of all, there are tons of families around, which could understandably get awkward, and the general vibe is just plain more flirty that fuck-me.
