Gaybutton Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Le Café Royale, Throb, and Splash today began major renovations. From what I understand the entire reception area, bar, and restaurant is going to be redone at Le Café Royale. New awnings are already going up. I also understand that the plans for Throb and Splash also include major renovations, to begin within a month. The plans include combining the two bars under one new name, yet to be announced. Quote

My understanding is that the old Throb/Splash will be called "The Copa Showbar", apparently they are spending 6-7 million on the club alone, but I think the major works start after the Boyztown Soi Party on the 6 July Quote

Guest luvthai Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 It would be nice if someone could re-create the concept the Ole Cockpit had. That was one nice bar and the shows where top notch. One of my all time favorite bars. Quote

One of my all time favorite bars. My understanding is, that is what their intention is, to create a nice new big stage, with new sound & light, and to give it more of a cozy decadent atmosphere, with comfortable seating where you can relax and stretch your legs, not hemmed in on rows. One of the owners was showing his staff a mock up model of the new look, and I managed to sneak a peak, I must say, if they make it like that, then I think it will be a very nice venue. Apparently, they are also putting a brand new swim tank in, so you can see where the money is going. Quote
Gaybutton Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 Obviously it's quite a project. Has there been any word yet about their projected opening date? Quote
PattayaMale Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Obviously it's quite a project. Has there been any word yet about their projected opening date? I am curious if these changes also mean that a new partnership or ownership has taken place for Cafe Royal. I knew there was a booking relationship between the owners of Throb/Splash and the hotel part of Cafe Royal. But the owneship that included the Terrace Bar, Coffee shop and Cafe was separate I was told. After Robbie's death, all the ownership passed to Craig, I was told. It sounds like the project will be really nice. Will there be a complete closure of the facility? If so are any dates confirmed yet? Quote
