Gaybutton Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 Monday, May 5 is Thailand's Coronation Day, a holiday celebrating the anniversary of His Majesty, the King's ascension to the throne. So far, I have heard nothing about bar closures. I don't know, as of this writing, whether the bars will be open or not. If I am able to find out, I'll let you know. Quote
Gaybutton Posted May 2, 2008 Author Posted May 2, 2008 My latest information is the Pattayaland bars will be open, but will not be serving alcohol. I haven't heard anything about the Sunee Plaza bars yet. Quote
Gaybutton Posted May 5, 2008 Author Posted May 5, 2008 Ok, good news. All the bars will be open today (May 5) and will be serving alcohol. You can also buy liquor again in stores. Speaking of buying liquor in stores, in Thailand stores are only allowed to sell liquor between the hours of 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and then from 5:00 PM to midnight. I'll let you decide for yourself what that's supposed to accomplish. I was never able to figure it out. Quote
