Cherry's is Moving - but not far

One of my favorite restaurants in Pattaya is Cherry's, located on Third Road, just across the street from the X-yte disco. At some point in mid-May (they're not sure of the exact date yet) they will be closing down their present location and moving, literally, around the corner.

Also directly across from the X-yte disco and on the corner north of Cherry's is a fairly new Indian restaurant (which I understand is also quite good, but I have not tried it yet). The soi on which that Indian restaurant is located is the soi to which Cherry's will be moving. The new location will be about 100 meters up that soi. When I get a chance I'll go over there and see if I can provide better directions, but I doubt that anyone will have any problems finding the new location.

The reason for the move is that the restaurant is a success. It has become so popular that now they need a larger venue. It will be the same food, the same service, and the same prices.

I certainly wish them luck in their new location. The present location will be open until they actually make the move.

If you've never tried Cherry's, then you're missing one of the best restaurants at some of the most reasonable prices in Pattaya. If you've never been there, I highly recommend adding Cherry's to your "Must" list when in Pattaya.

This evening I had a look. The soi is not marked with a name or number, but you can't miss it. It's directly across Third Road from the X-yte Disco, the same soi where you will see the Taj Indian restaurant. It's a short block and the restaurant is just up the soi, at the end of the block, on the right.

The venue is under renovation. It is completely gutted and the workers are working to try to meet the goal of being able to open by mid May. Frankly, I don't see how they can manage to have everything done and ready that quickly, but we'll see.

I live very close to that soi and have been wondering what that construction was for. It use to be a 99 baht buffet.

It appears that the building is a "L" shape. Did they mention if they will have an on site parking lot?

They didn't mention it and it did not occur to me to ask. However, even if you still have to park on Third Road, it's still a shorter walk to the restaurant than from most parking lots to a store entrance.

This evening, Sunday, May 18, was the final night Cherry's will be open at their old location. Tomorrow, Monday, the restaurant will be closed while they are moving everything into the new location.

The new location will open for business on Tuesday, May 20.

Today I drove right by Cherry's. I noticed they now have a new sign in place at the corner and a big sign on their now former premises telling people where the new location is. It's only 40 meters from the former location, so it won't be at all difficult to find.

A group of six of us gave the new location a try. Cherry's gets a 'thumbs up' from all of us. The food and presentation is still superb. The menu is exactly the same. Now there is much more seating, along with a separate dining room. The salad bar is now in the center of the restaurant and there are several more selections now. The wine selection is more extensive. What appears to be an outdoor seating area is under construction.

To answer the parking question, there is room for about eight cars, directly in front of the restaurant.

Even though it is low season, I recommend reservations. We arrived shortly after 7:00 PM. Despite about double the number of tables now, by 7:45 there were only two unoccupied tables left. The number for reservations is: 086-314-5819.
