paulsf Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I'm making my first trip to Thailand next week and will only have 4 days in Bangkok. I've picked up a lot of great info from this site and hope to be able to do a lot of daytime and Nightime exploring. But I was wondering if anybody knows if it's possible to find a boy to use as a tour guide for a day or two? Thanks Quote
Bob Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Sure...depending on what you're looking for. If all you want is a guide that's male, you certainly can arrange that with about any tour desk at any hotel. Or just by googling can find you some guides/escorts. Or, if what you're interested in is hiring one of the bar boys (perhaps one that strikes your fancy), just ask him (or, better yet, maybe tell the mamasan at the bar what you're interested in). But be aware that many of the bar boys can only guide you to some of the discos and shopping malls (I've taken long-time barboys in Bangkok for their first visit to the Grand Palace!). Of course, unless you know enough Thai to communicate, you'd need to make sure the boy speaks passable English. Quote
Guest Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Depending on the time you get into Thailand. 1. Don't sleep in the daytime. Keep active and busy. 2. First day, go to Siam Paragon for lunch. Walk around and get the lay of the land and eat in the Food Court. 2. Then, go to B and N Massage. They will keep you happy and a good release from the flight. 3. Before dinner, go over to Silom 4 for a drink and the crowd watching. It is fun and delightful. 4. Around 7:30 go to Soi Twilight - the gay gogo boy street. Sit at Dick's Cafe and eat dinner. You can take your time and relax and sit outside and enjoy the boys going to work. Have a watermelon shake, they are good there. If you don't want the sugar, tell them to make it with equal. They will. 5. Pick 3 bars you want to visit. Go to each one of them. Buy a drink and see if there are any boys that interest you. If they are, have one over for a drink. If not, move on the next bar.If you find a boy at any bar, decide if you want to pay for 2 drinks at another bar or simply go back to the hotel for fun. Or, watch one of the sex shows on the Soi. I suggest trying Future Boys as they usually have good guys. 6. At the end of the night, take a valium to sleep as it will help you adjust and get used to the change in time. 7. The next day, to go the Palace and the Floating Market. Both are must sees in Bangkok. If the boy from the night before speaks good english, ask him along. Make the talk before hand on how much you are willing to pay. Don't let it be all up to you. Discuss it so no one's feelings are hurt. 8. While in Bangkok, go to MBK. Take a float on the river. See 3 of the temples. Try a few massage parlors. Try some different gogo bars. Enjoy yourself every day and get as much in as you possibly can. Have fun and let us know what you think after your trip. Quote
paulsf Posted April 12, 2008 Author Posted April 12, 2008 Thanks for your help guys. I arrive in Bangkok at 11:30pm, so hoping I might be able to get some sleep the first night. I was lucky enough to score a first class ticket from San Francisco, so that should take some of the edge off the trip. The daytime sightseeing should take care of itself. The research I have done, leads me to pretty much what you have mentioned. I guess that is why I would like a boy to show me around. Partly with a short trip, I will get to see more, and it's fun to have someone to share it with. I have spend many evenings in Rio, but Bangkok sounds a little more complicated in the nightlife department. In Rio, you just hit the saunas and deal directly with the guys. In Bangkok, sounds like many different kind of places to spend the evening, and a middleman to deal with But I'll give it the old college try. Again, thanks for your help and I'll keep you informed Paulsf Quote

Good advice, since few of the barboys seem to be from Bangkok. Quote

Truth be told Bangkok is really simpler in the nightlife department. If the boy you choose does not speak English you can ask a mamasam(head waiter) to translate for you and offer a small tip if he is helpful. In BKK most visitors visit the massage place in the afternoon or very early evening and then head to the Bars at night. In BKK the difference is you will get a real massage (quality varies ) and then sex. The session will last at least an hour instead of the abbreviated 20-30 minutes in Rio. There will be someone there to help you choose the massage boy and don't be afraid to tell him exactly what you want after the massage. In BKK there are at least a dozen bars close to each other so likely you will find a suitable partner among the hundreds offered In Rio you are taking a risk bringing a sauna boy home with you.First depending on Hotel you may not get him in and 2nd you are more at risk for theft then in BKK where boy is employee of the Bar . No problems bringing boys back to most Hotels in BKK The 2 cities are quite different but I think BKK is far easier to see a large selection of boys either in the afternoon or evening . There are even a couple of locations where are 4 or 5 massage parlors walking distance from each other and at night most of the bars are lined in a row. Not to mention that the taxis are far nicer and easier to get around in then Rio Rio is a great city with fabulous scenery but as long as you like Asians BKK is far better as a Sex destination IMHO Quote
paulsf Posted April 12, 2008 Author Posted April 12, 2008 Thanks for your post Firecat, it really answered a lot of questions that I had. I am really looking forward to this trip as it will be my first time to this part of the world. Exploring the two different cultures of Bangkok (that of the day and that of the evening) sounds exciting. A couple more days before I leave, but being able to talk about it with some people with common interests has left me with wanting to hop a plane tonight Thanks so much for all your help. Paulsf If you're looking for a real tour guide that is fairly easy to arrange I would imagine, especially in low season. You can always contact Purple Dragon (www.purpledrag.com) and use one of their guides. They are pretty much uniformly excellent and communicate very well. I think a full day with the guide is something like $50-60. You pay for lunch and transport as well as admissions. But for things like the Palace the guide gets in free. I swear by them and have had fantastic times traveling with them the last two years. They also have guides who can help you navigate the nightlife scene as well. They are based at the Tarntawan Place hotel so they are easy to find. Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I too would suggest Purple Dragon. Their office is in the lobby of the Tantawan Hotel. You can go in there or call them and make arrangements. I used their guide service about 18 months ago, and had a great one on one tour, including the river taxi, several temples, the emerald budda, China town for lunch, and some spots where one might happen to find a boy. The guide will go to the places you want to see, and customize the tour. I have used them in Bangkok, Chaing Mai, Phuket, and Saigon...all with good tours, and good guides. Quote
paulsf Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 Well I made my trip to Bangkok and back. I wanted to thank everybody for their help, and this site, for its help. It made a big difference in getting me around on a short trip. My first impression of Bangkok...It's hot..... I arrived at midnite on Japan Airlines. No wait at immigration and bags were waiting. I stayed at the Tarntawan Hotel and was there in about 1 hour from getting off the plane. I did find a guide, but I found him on Craigslist. I was a bit reluctant given what Craigslist sometimes has to offer. But we met in hotel lobby and talked for awhile and I felt totally comfortable. He turned out to be great. He was 21 and as cute as any boy I saw in Bangkok. We spend the day together and I couldnt have asked for any more. All the helpful hints I picked up off this site, really payed off for me at the clubs. I remember one thing GT said, "Dont be shy" I am one of those types, but seeing I had only a few days, didnt want to waste to much time sitting in a corner trying to figure it out. I went to B & N for a massage. They had about 10 boys working. The boy working the front desk, noticed I was having trouble deciding and asked me exactly what I was looking for. I told him and he pointed out about 4 boys that would work well with me. He was right. I went back 3 more times I have been to Rio many times, so I know what it is like in the Saunas. The clubs in Bangkok are a totally different game. I walked down the street with all the Clubs. There is so much of the "Come into our Club" I was just trying to look around a bit and the door guys are grabbing and shouting and I was a bit uncomfortable at first. Finally at Future Boys I had about 3 guys grab me and pull me into the Club. Then passed off to the bar boys and then all of a sudden there is the mamasan sitting next to you asking if you want a boy. It was about the most confusing 2 minutes I can remember in a long time I told them I had just arrived and never seen a show and wanted to. I just wanted to be left alone for awhile. I was very happy to find that they are very good about talking and listening to you. They keep checking on me, but pretty much respected my wishes. Feeling comfortable now, well lets just say I didnt go back to the hotel alone. I only went to Future Boys and Bangkok Boys. I was more comfortable at Bangkok Boys as they had a bigger and better selection of boys. I pretty much used the tipping ideas that I picked up on this site and all worked out very well. My departure was much the same as my arrival. I was only person at check in at Cathay Pacific and then only a couple of people in line at immigration. So had a lot of extra time to sit in the airline club. From beginning to end, I had a great time. The hotel was great, but I probably wont stay there the next time only for the lack of a swimming pool. Next time?....Yeah already looking for time off and airfares. Again, thanks to everybody for your advice and help Paulsf Quote
Gaybutton Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 From beginning to end, I had a great time. And I thank you for posting about your experience. I'm delighted you enjoyed your first trip to Thailand. I think your post probably just convinced many others who have been trying to decide whether to really make that first trip, or just dream about it, to go for it. Next time, come and visit us in Pattaya too. If you want to let me know you're coming I'll be happy to show you around personally. As for airfares, I would like to suggest, if you're trip originates in the USA, that you contact Rhonda at Norcross Travel before you commit to a price. I used her for years and she always was able to get airfares for me at prices far less, sometimes several hundred dollars less, than any other source. The number is 1-888-888-7157. Make sure you are talking with Rhonda, not another agent. Quote
paulsf Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 Thanks Gaybutton. My next trip will definately be to Pattaya, so will let you know when. It wont be till October or November. Have this thing called work that gets in the way of my travels Quote
