Christmas presents sometimes get a bad wrap and so do some rappers. Are we in the USA or some foreign country? I am not intending to cast aspersions at anyone but I do have some pet grammar peeves.

One I heard this morning. The child was thrown out the back door of the car. I doubt the kid was in the back door but maybe was in the back seat and thrown out of it via the back door opening?

I have many more of my personal wonderings but I shall leave you with only one more. More in less than 30 minutes. Should that not be more in fewer than 30 minutes? Sigh.

If you come online for Good Grammar, then you sure missed the boat. Yeah yeah, I meant rap, not wrap, but when you are trying to piece together a cohesive, meaningful and witty post, grammar sometimes takes a back seat.... Big Whoop. Just stick to watching porn and cruising for sex when you logon and stop the quest for Education or perfection of ANY kind ! Your life will be MUCH happier and less STRESSED

Hmmm - you may be on shaky ground here. One of the meanings of 'door' is actually 'doorway'.

You may be correct but I doubt that the perpetrator was referring to the doorway. I think she was meaning the back door of a car. I think we all understand but am I just being silly to think correct grammar is good? I completely agree that no one speaks or writes perfectly at all times but should we not try to do so.

I have no problem at all. I simply do not read most posts about the other site as they do not interest me.

Reminds of one my earlier posts at HooBoy's explaining to some who objected vehemently to his posting, that nobody strapped those guys into a chair, sewed their eyelids open and placed in front of them a computer monitor tuned to his forums, opened up on one of his posts.

On the internet, I've never seen so many people complain of wet feet when all they had to do was step over a little puddle.

Suckrates I had the opportunity to meet TB socially at the Palm Springs Weekend this last March and I fully understand his attraction. In a social situation he is charming, articulate, attractive (if you like bodybuilder types), and an absolute delight, though a trifle hyper. Be assured that I am not excusing is faults for he, like all of the rest of us, definitely has some. The next time he visits my part of the country I will attempt to set up a get together being fully aware that it might not happen and that if it doesn’t my world will keep turning.

Perhaps I missed the "paper" version of this site. I've been typing all these years. I bet Adam Smith has wonderful penmanship though.

I always thought "verbal" was more akin to spoken communication. This forum, to me, represents more of a written exchange. A pretty simple example of a verbal interchange for you here - Imagine yourself riding the bus from Queens to Manhattan ( ) on a windy, rainy afternoon - you walk down the sticky aisle, make eye contact with a fellow passenger and ask "pardon me sir, is that seat taken?"

"No sir, you are welcome to it."

"Thank heavens, the rain caught be unaware today; it appears as though I absentmindedly left my umbrella at the sex den this weekend."

"Sex den you say? What fun! I too enjoy a little romp in the dark; it keeps me away from all those overcharging hussies with inflated egos (wink) if you know what I mean?"

This is one of many examples of a verbal interchange.

It sure is nice to me missed.
