The One Who Got Away

During my lifetime I have had the opportunity to settle down with one guy ... or just have some awesome sex. There is one over a decade later that I let get away .... why? Read on.

As most here know I am a big guy aka chub. I really have never been into any so called gay scene and even as a younger adult had no idea there were guys attracted to chubs AKA as chasers.

Well I was living in SoCal and would get together with friends at the French Market about once a week for lunch or dinner. For those who don't know the French Market is part of the now city of West Hollywood a area where many gay people live.

On this evening I was quite a bit early to meet my buds for dinner. As I was walking toward the French Market a beautiful, young, blonde hair skater / surfer approached me and said hello. To this day I can remember how just his look was making me ummm excited. Anyway, I said hi and kept walking and like a dog hanging on to his masters leg the kid followed along next to me ... where you going he asked, can I buy you dinner he wanted to know, how about we just get to know each other some.

All my responses were very short and to the point no I kept saying. I don't know why I didn't know if he was making fun of my size or looking for money (which I would have paid) ... finally he kind of puts his arm in front of me to signal stop. He looks right in my eyes and says I want to let you know I think you're sexy I love chubby men.

At that point I heard myself say, sorry but dude I am not gay .... it was like someone else took over my brain I couldn't believe I was saying those words ... the kid looked at me and said Oh I am really sorry and disappeared.

Yes after the blood returned to my brain I did go back to look for him and I even went the next few nights to see if I could find him but no luck :(

You snooze.....

I have had so many regrets when I don't take things up fast. I have learned that waiting is often bad so I try not to do that and just grab the bull by the horns, so to speak.

When I am in Thailand, if I walk into a bar and I see Mr. Right on the stage, I immediately (before I even sit down) hold out my hand to help him off the stage and buy him a drink.

We don't often know the intentions of others but the only way to find out is to put yourself out there and test the waters. it is often a very scary thing to do but always ends in more success than just backing away.

So true and a lesson I don't think I have fully learned yet, especially when it comes to hiring escorts. Too many times to count I have had my eyes and other things set on an escort but I hem and haw, delay and hesitate until it is too late and they have moved on from escorting. I am trying very hard now to do as Oz suggest and just go for it while the opportunity presents itself.
