Guest EXPAT Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 A small town in North Georgia passed an ordinance last night that requires every household to own a gun and ammunition.City of Nelson council members are seeking to make a point about gun rights with this measure, which contains no penalties and exempts anyone who objects. City Councilman Duane Cronic believes it will make the town safer. http://abcnews.go.com/US/georgia-towns-law-gun/story?id=18863226#.UVtgo7_PX5i This has to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. We have the inmates running the asylum. Quote
Members RA1 Posted April 3, 2013 Members Posted April 3, 2013 So sorry you feel this way. Please consider the "record" of Chicago which has very strict gun laws and one of the worst gun murder and crime rates in the country. I understand that folks think that banning guns makes folks safer but statistics do not agree. However, I also agree that everyone having a gun is NOT a good answer either. Best regards. RA1 Quote
TotallyOz Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Does anyone really need an AK 47 for safety? That is insane! I grew up in Alabama and owned over 100 guys in my lifetime. However, they were shot guns, rifles, pistols, etc. My uncle who raises champion coon dogs and has well over 500 guns said there were no need for anyone to have the assault weapons except the military. He is not against gun ownership at all but we are both for sanity. I want to see more restrictions put on gun ownership and more laws on the books that deal swiftly with people who break the laws. Did you see the NRA has now said they want teaches to carry guns to school. Again, growing up in Alabama having teachers that I saw assault kids with their hands, to have guns in school in nuts.
