I was using my Hilton points so holed up at the S.D. Hilton on the Macedon for several days last summer as a sensual getaway. Down side: beware of con artists and guys that will advertise escorted gay day trips to the islands. I stupidly sent money to pre-pay for one and got royally screwed out of a couple hundred bucks. Lesson learned. In the city there are plenty of cool things to see of an historical and cultural nature, plus great food options. The gay bars run from total hustler dives to very upscale dance places to small, chic drinking holes. I was surprised at the variety. Bar Friends is at the low scale for fancy but has some of the hottest rent boys I've ever seen. I made the mistake of buying a couple beers (at .50 cents no less) and was surrounded by 6 of the most hung guys ever stroking their cocks for me. It was a bit overwhelming, actually. Then I walked up to the "Cine" which shows gay films for a few hours every night and struck pay dirt. OMG I was on my knees with this gorgeous guy and cock for 30 minutes before I realized that it was so hot I felt like passing out. The place reminded me of nasty New York places from a few years ago, but keep your money and wallet well place or you'll walk away broke! Anyway, I was impressed with the country, 3rd world thought it may be. The people have great dignity and swagger which is admirable. Of course, the cocks are amazing beautiful. A taxi driver even offered to score one of the Dominican pro baseball players for me for $50. Sadly I was leaving the next day so couldn't take him up on his offer. Not only did you cite some areas related to culture, etc., your post has encouraged me to venture back to Santo Domingo and the Dominican Republic again. I was last there in 2005 on a gay tour and had a so, so time, part of this due to an injury I encountered which put me out of commission for some 8 weeks afterwards. But again, muchas gracias!
