TotallyOz Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 If you have been reading the news about the New York Governor's statement yesterday, he apologized to his family. Apparently, he was caught in a prostitution ring and he was paying between 1k-5k an hour. Just made me think, damm, with the USD as low as it is, is that about the same that is paid in the high end bars in Pattaya? http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/11/spitzer/index.html Quote

It's the same cost as a 'boyfriend' here, once you calculate the dead buffalo, mama operation, motorbike accident and lost cellphone. Quote
Guest Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 It's the same cost as a 'boyfriend' here, once you calculate the dead buffalo, mama operation, motorbike accident and lost cellphone. Sir, how may I ask do you know my boyfriend so well? Quote
Guest Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I wonder how many Americans use tax dollars to hire prostitutes (probably none except for FBI agents ) in Thailand. This is, of course, if your information GT(regarding FBI agents using services of prostitutes) is correct. I never said that the ladies were prostitutes. That word never came out of my writing. I get so frustrated when everyone thinks that just because an older man has a sexy lady or handsome lad with them in Pattaya that they are only there for money. I know that with my boyfriend, that is not the case. He really does love me. I am sure that the "ladies" that were engaged in conversation also had love on their minds. But, please don't think that my mind was in the gutter and thought they were prostitutes. I would never think such a thing. :) LOL I just checked that as government employers on business trip they are entitled for at least 77 US per day in meals and entertainment That would go a long way in Pattaya and perhaps buy dinner in Paris. Is this true for everywhere they travel? Quote

Same-same Gay Thailand, my boyfriend really does love me; he tells me that every time I give him money and I truly believe his every word. Why do some think the love stops when the money stops? Quote

Why do some think the love stops when the money stops? That is the never ending question isn't it? Perhaps it is like when I was 15 and wanted a pair of Calvin Klein pants. I could not afford them as I came from a very poor family. So, I put them on lay-a-way. Each week, I paid a little bit and finally, I was able to take them home with me. Quote

But I do like the lay-a-way plan. My bf always suggests something like that when we discuss my future. Quote
Guest xiandarkthorne Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Excuse me for being so naive but as I don't live in the US and this is a completely new slang term to me, I hope you'll forgive me for asking what 'lay-away' might be. Is that what I think it is? Remember that I am a very dirty-minded old fart. Quote
Guest laurence Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Lay-a-way is not a dirty term. At one time in America it was common for customers to make small weekly or monthly payments to a store toward the purchase of an item. The store would reserve that item for you until your payments equaled the cost of the item. People with little money still use this method to purchase items they cannot afford out of pocket. Hope this helps? Quote
Guest xiandarkthorne Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Thanks for clearing that up, Lawrence...I thought it meant that the store owner kept it for you until he got laid so many number of pre-agreed times...silly of me, really. Quote

If a store like this is possible in Thailand, I think I may have to reconsider opening a business here. Can it be called Lay-A-Way Boyz? And, if the owner gets to keep them, does he also get to play with them? JK Quote

If you think about it, the idea isn't all that far-fetched, especially if you consider opening for business somewhere in the more economically challenged areas. I know that there are plenty of second hand clothes shops in LOS that sell used branded goods at fairly stiff prices (jeans are premium goods especially if the colours are fading, I don't know why)...I can just imagine how busy such a shop would be if it became known that the proprietors were not necessarily looking for financial payment. And then there are also those people who sell such stuff from their homes. They sort of have 'viewing parties' for potential customers to look over their stock. I suppose in such private circumstances, you could also label each item with 'XXX no. of f**ks' orr 'XXX no. of s**ks' and leave it to your potential new customers to bargain about the number of times without your even having to bring up the nasty subject of suitable reimbursement too directly...gives a whole new spectrum of meaning to 'tupperware parties' doesn't it? The possibilities are endless if you can get hold of a sufficient quantity good quality used clothes, I think. Quote
