Guest EXPAT Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 How do I get this guy's job? I guess Oz already had it. Quote
Guest FourAces Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Interesting article. Nothing really new just well put together. Quote
AdamSmith Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Curiousity is killing this cat to figure out what listing service he works for. All the ones I can think of are listed in the article, by way of apparent exclusion. Would a smaller, regional site bother to pay for services such as he provides? ...wonder could the enumeration of the biggies be a diversionary tactic, and it is in fact one of those named? Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 1. He clearly works for AdultSearch. 2. Yes, these listing sites hire people like him all the fucking time. Quote
AdamSmith Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Ah. Thanks. I was entirely ignorant of AdultSearch. Any characterizations of it vs., say, eros.com? Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 It's more low rent than Eros. Their targeted market is blue collar escort/massage consumers and the long haul trucker market. It's decent to use if you are going to be travelling through a place, only going to be there for a few hours and want to get laid. They employ a lot of onsite staff and freelancers to do the type of stuff this guy does. They also have an affiliation with Fuckbook ("The Facebook Of Sex") from which they get affiliate income. NO male escorts listed for the 2 largest cities in NC. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 That means the male escorts in those cities have enough demand that they don't need to go on adult search and split some of their fees with them. Quote
AdamSmith Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Having trouble finding any male escorts at all on AdultSearch. Are there? You know eros.com added a male escort category a few years ago, but dropped it when nobody anywhere bought those ads. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 There used to be, but when I was doing work for adult search it was a couple years ago. Who knows what they do now. Quote
AdamSmith Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Just noting that the buzzfeed article specifically called the site the guy works for "a social network for gay men," and that AdultSearch as constituted at the moment is anything but. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 That's a fair point. Maybe it's GayVibes? Quote
