Guest thaiworthy Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Well if you're doing short time, what does it matter if they have 365 birthdays per year? Wish them happy birthday and don't give them anything extra for it. No, that ploy doesn't work in person. More of them speak English than the Thai can, so they have a more direct approach. And better yet, no words need be exchanged at all. They just grab your wallet and take what they want out of it. Much more efficient than the everyday birthday approach. Quote

Don't the hotels have room safes? If not, keep it to short time & boot them out of the door before you fall asleep. For those who do expect tips, what's the going rate? Current exchange rates show 1000THB = 1397 PHP & 1500 THB = 2096 PHP. Now how many Pesos are they after? Quote
pong Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 planned to go there this febr- but changed mind and choose MY. From what I remember of old shamefull Mack: prices in PHP roughly about same as what you would give in THB here-which thus, for the fast calculators, works out at an advantage if counting in any valuta like EUr or any $$. As for the rather Qs anyone can answer for themselves: SOme HTls will-other s not-or central in the lobby. Quote
