Members Lucky Posted January 7, 2013 Members Posted January 7, 2013 There is a website called biddingfortravel.com at which I participated for a long time and contributed quite a bit of information. The website is owned by a woman named Sheryl, and she rules the place with an iron hand and a short temperament. She has driven so many posters away that the site is of much less value since so few contributions come in. The purpose of the site is good. You post the bid that won you a hotel on Priceline, and this helps others make more intelligent bids on Priceline. You no longer bid so blindly. If you have no trouble following Sheryl's rules, the site might make your bidding much better. Sheryl does not like the fact that I find her rules cumbersome and say so. She beat deej to the punch long ago and banned me! It always amazes me that sites that depend on contributions of members can be so difficult to deal with. She is still in business, and I have no problem with you using that site to your benefit. I not only made money for her by using her link to Priceline, I travel a lot and provided many helpful bid information and other contributions to the site. Thankfully I am now a pretty savvy Priceline bidder and don't need the site as much. Are there any sites that you have problems with? Let us know so we can avoid them! Quote

AdamSmith Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Good God. One could have offed one of The Web's dancers for nigh on a week for that sum. But then ... you can't take it with you! Quote

I actually turned it down. I don't need company while I drink. I left open the one hour ($280) fuck as a late evening option. Scouring CL like the old days. $600 just seems crazy to me right now. Members lookin Posted January 7, 2013 Members Posted January 7, 2013 Personally, I don't mind folks airing their grievances or anything else they choose to air. Sometimes it does a body good to purge the evil vapors. But I'm never sure where the line is between venting and kvetching. A day or two, and a thread or two, seems about right to me. Less than that, and the noxious gases may continue to build and cause distress. And more than that may give this site a reputation as The Village of the Banned and make it less desirable for new members. I recall a site called EscortSpeak which was an offshoot of another site and seemed to owe its very existence to disgruntled posters from the other site. Soon enough, anyone who wanted to let bygones be bygones and move on to more positive topics was marginalized. It became a very negative place and eventually ceased to exist. I have no doubt that OZ and TY are able to see any such trends developing here and take whatever precautions are necessary to protect their 'brand'. But one of the things I enjoy so much about this site is that the members are usually able to moderate themselves, and free up TY and OZ for more worthwhile pursuits. Like Lucky, I hope that it will soon be time to move on to more creative threads and leave the past in the rear view mirror. TotallyOz, JKane, Lucky and 1 other 4 Quote

Guest BudFoxx Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 All I asked was for the bitching and kvetching to be done in a thread that did not have my name in the title. But now dear, because of you, it now does have your name in it. Don't press your luck, this is no longer about you! Be happy about that. :-) Quote
Members Lucky Posted January 8, 2013 Author Members Posted January 8, 2013 Thanks, Bud. Where would we be if you had not decided to join us? Quote
Members marcanthony Posted January 8, 2013 Members Posted January 8, 2013 This entire thread to this point is an excellent example of why it's worth it to stop here everyday. Can't ask for better entertainment! 1) Lucky: happy the discussion no longer has your name on the title 2) Adam: thanks for bringing back memories of "offing" boys for $600/week, whether from the now defunct Web or elsewhere 3) Citylaw: sincerely hope you got drunk and laid for less than $600, and even if it was MUCH less, hope you reported the event (in detail) to deej 4) Lookin': thanks for the eyecandy and the perspective about the reason we are here 5) BuddFoxx: for the line of the week!!! "Especially when you've been fucked once already Earlier in the day! No need to be piggish" going to bed with a smile on my face! citylaw1, lookin, AdamSmith and 1 other 4 Quote

It always amazes me that sites that depend on contributions of members can be so difficult to deal with. She is still in business, and I have no problem with you using that site to your benefit. I used the site heavily about ten years ago. Have dropped out since. Too bad the participation has dropped off and with it it's usefulness. Do you mind sharing what sort of burdensome rules she imposed? Just curious and prefer not to wade through history to find out what happened. Thanks. Quote

Guest josephga Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I use to post on ATKOL allot. One of the first sites I joined in 1997. Then last year It wouldn't take my pass code. They don't have pass word retriever so you could have it emailed to you. Plus in all these years the site pretty much looks the same and outdated. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I've been trying to reset my Photobucket password for two months now and they keep saying they are emailing me a new password but never do. Quote
Members Lucky Posted January 15, 2013 Author Members Posted January 15, 2013 Last week I was in New York. I was told, and subsequently saw for myself, that several nice things were said about me on the other site. I want all of those people to know that I appreciate their kind remarks, because I really do. Some mention that they miss my theater reviews, but if you know any of those folks, please let them know that my theater reviews are now here. Send them the link! http://www.boytoy.com/forums/index.php?/forum/253-theater-art-and-literature/ Some think that all I have to do is make a generic sort of apology to the owner of the site, and all will be well again. Cooper posted that I was done with the site and was moving on. He was right. So, here is the word straight from the horse's mouth: I do not want to be a member of the message board at Daddy's Reviews. I don't like Daddy, and I disdain deej. I don't care to apologize to a man who posted using my user name. It seems to me that he is the one who owes an apology. I was given no warning or right to know the reason why I was banned. It just happened when I complained about the name Lucky being on a post that I didn't write. The idea that I was banned because I didn't apologize for some unspecified crime came along well after I was banned. Rest assured, I have banned myself from posting at Daddy's reviews. My complaint about the misuse of my user name said that I could post there no longer without an apology, and I think that's where the idea came about that I should apologize rather than this person. It's a red herring meant to distract you from what really happened. The End. Quote
