Members Suckrates Posted January 5, 2013 Members Posted January 5, 2013 Seems there is "another" site recently dubbed The Steppford site, because it seems that there can be no discussion with any Difference of opinion there, and its members must agree with the opinions of management in order for a discussion to continue. If not, the thread gets closed.... Recently an esteemed escort responded to the sites ongoing Escort of the Year contest , and questioned HIS exclusion from the list. Well there was the usual "dont worry bout its", and the ass kissing "you are the bests", but it didnt satisfy the escorts question as to WHY he was excluded from being a contender. Well after several pages of ying and yang, most members questioning the reason to even have such a competition, there was no resolution, and apparently the MGT had had enuf discussion about HIS policy so another "locked down" thread. If only life could be that easy, you dont like something, lock it down ! Kudos to the Boytoy mgt for allowing members to "freely" and openly discuss topics with differing Opinions and voices. Apparently if members are treated as adults, they will behave accordingly. People dont need to agree, they just need to Respect and be respected. will we find a cure for Cancer ? NO.... but there will certainly be some interesting discussion about it along the way. Thank you BoyToy. The sites' Maturity is quite Refreshing ! Quote
Guest BudFoxx Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 To be honest, his exclusion had nothing to do with that sites management. It had everything to do with the fact that the members of that site never brought his name forward to include in the voting. A flawed process, yes. But it was never anything about the management of that site ignoring a tenured escort In the voting. People just did not vote for Rod. Therefore he was not included in the tally. Quote
caeron Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Rod may be a great escort, but he's been a bit contentious on the boards in the past. Maybe that hurt him. In any case, whining about it is hardly the way to improve matters. Quote
Members Lucky Posted January 6, 2013 Members Posted January 6, 2013 I don't know Rod Hagen, but I think he made some salient points and that he did it with respect. it didn't come across as whining to me. I have always felt that the contest was arbitrary. I don't know BudFoxx either, but everything I have seen so far tells me that he has the chance to be a funny and charming guy. Or is crazy as a fox? We'll see. Quote
Members Suckrates Posted January 6, 2013 Author Members Posted January 6, 2013 You are all missing the point of my post. Its not about the escort or the contest. Its about the fact that when the mgt grew tired of its members talking about it, some suggesting the contest be discontinied, they locked the thread down so it couldnt be discussed anymore. Regulating what members CAN discuss is not endorsed by me...... Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Not allowing people to say what they want is a sure fire way to create really shitty threads. Quote

Members Suckrates Posted January 6, 2013 Author Members Posted January 6, 2013 FWIW - several posters, including the escort who started the thread, suggested that it be closed. NC, YES I realize that, but others didnt and should have still been allowed to discuss it if they chose to, as long as no TOS violation was committed. I am not looking to argue this point, as it has nothing to do with THIS site, perhaps I should suggest THIS thread be closed? Quote
AdamSmith Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 This issue of locking threads in absence of a clear TOS or privacy violation reminds me of the great Politically Correct Speech debate that swept the college campuses in the late '80s & early '90s. In that era, my grand old Yale convened a committee that spent like a year thinnin' about it. In the end they came to the conclusion that: No speech shall be banned on campus. Not even blatant hate speech. (Except for the very few exceptions that were already disallowed under law -- active incitements to violence, mainly.) They concluded that the answer to speech, even the most hateful and intolerant, is -- more speech. That this is the way to change people's minds. Not by cutting off the dialog. I was, for once, floored by the wisdom of a committee. Quote
Guest NCBored Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 For the record, I don't condone locking that thread - but my point was, some forum members, including the OP did. And it's easy enough to stop talking about the other site. Quote

That this is the way to change people's minds. Not by cutting off the dialog. By extension: "No weapons shall be banned on campus. Not even high volume of fire weapons. (Exceptions to be made for weapons generally disallowed by International law -- weaponized biologicals and chemicals and the like). * * The committee debated at length man portable ground to air missiles, mercury core bullets, claymore mines, drones and such (which some considered unsporting) but, lacking concensus, concluded that "fore-warned is fore-armed" and defered judgement until practical experience provides definitive guidance. Members Lucky Posted January 7, 2013 Members Posted January 7, 2013 Every once in a while this site goes through a flurry of posts about the other site. Attention is paid, and then those who came here to discuss that issue leave, and we are left where we were. This site will not grow if it just a place to bash the other site. My suggestion is to move on, post interesting things that others will want to stick around to read, and remember, only this site shows hard cocks. lookin and MsGuy 2 Quote
Members Suckrates Posted January 7, 2013 Author Members Posted January 7, 2013 With all DUE respect to everyone that has posted, THIS is "just a topic"..... Stop making more of it than it is.... Like any other topic, it should be able to be discussed, THAT WAS THE POINT ! For those that want to move on, move they should... for those that want to linger, that option should remain as well. As we have seen time and time agian, discussions burn themselves out, and its only those who actually continue to post "I am ready to move on" that bring the focus BACK to the topic.... As far as cocks...remember, there ARE hard cocks elsewhere, only not on OPEN screen... it takes a few more clicks to "get to the meat of things"... I live by "accurate information" always..... I was banned today for my comments on the Noah Driver thread. I knew it would happen. I will no longer even visit that site. Suckrates, I suggest that the only visiting you do there should be to recruit more posters here. Here is the link to the thread: http://www.message-forum.net/showthread.php?91157-New-year-new-blog!-%29-Enjoy I was banned for "trying to be a moderator." WTF? This guy has stolen from members and come back 3 times promising to do the right thing, and, not once has he. I confronted him and I was wrong? Why the hell is there a place to discuss escorts? Quote
Members Lucky Posted January 7, 2013 Members Posted January 7, 2013 citylaw, I would respect your position much more except for the fact that when you were recently banned, you asked me to post a thread at Daddy's calling attention to the problems at the site. I could not get back to you because that was when the malware issues here began. In the interim, you were allowed back at the site and I was banned. But, when you got back to the site, did you create the thread there that you had wanted me to create? No. Did you complain at all when I was banned? No. Yet we here are now supposed to be all concerned that you got yourself banned again. Now we're are all brothers in arms...at least until you are allowed back at the site. Then we will again be forgotten. Quote

If someone does not want you on their site, move on. It is pretty simple. I don't go where I am not wanted. Life is too short for all that shit! IMHO citylaw1 1 Quote

Lucky, I was the only one (it seems) that ever complained about the banning over there, and constantly tried to make it a more dialogue oriented experience sans unreasonable filters. I did suggest that you start a thread over there calling to attention the downfall of what was once a decent forum; I actually thought that you would be able to pull it off without being banned. I was surprised by your banning to be truthful. Did you really think a thread from me over there would have been favorably received? I actually thought that a thread from you might make a difference. I'm hardly a coward; I was simply trying to generate some momentum towards change. I have been posting here and there for quite awhile. I don't abandon this site in favor of the other, however, I did find myself posting more there, in that there is more conversation. I'm not asking anyone to feel sorry for me; I posted here suggesting that posters attempt to recruit posters for this site. Unlike others, I will NEVER post there again or click (for whatever pennies it generates) on his site again, regardless of the ban being lifted in a month. You can hold me to that. I was always trying to prompt others to rebel, just a little bit there, to push back on the moderators. I don't recall you supporting any of those efforts. Now, for whatever reason, your feathers are wilted and I'm a traitor? I have participated in this forum and submitted at least 2 reviews to this site. Quote
