Guest EXPAT Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Despite passing the Senate 89-8 with a bill no one is happy with, it looks like House Republicans were willing to drive the world economy off a cliff rather than allow a vote on the bill the Senate and the White House agreed to. But They passed it, barely. I'm just glad that unemployment insurance was extended for a short time. I'd like to see some real work on how to modify Social Security and Medicare going forward instead of this PR oneupsmanship stuff. Quote

I am not sure what kind of deals went on behind the scene and we might never know until someone writes about it. Life is full of struggle and disputes. But I guess it's necessary for life to go on.
