Vin Diesel is going to star as the title character in a big screen version of Kojak. But will he keep the lollipops?

So, this is going to be a movie and not a TV show?

I grew up on the TV Show and look forward to either version but they have done a great job remaking Hawaii 5-0 that perhaps next in line will be Baretta or Kojak?
