TotallyOz Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 What wonderful memories he left me. RIP JR Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Rest in peace... I actually don't know who he is but if he left lasting impression on our Oz the. He must be a good person. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 HERE IS THE ARTICLE ON HIS THROAT CANCER CAUSE. http://tv.yahoo.com/news/larry-hagman-dead-81-portrayed-notorious-tv-villain-044041015.html Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Larry Hagman played one of the most famous villains ever on US Television. JR Ewing was one of those characters that was known the world over for his scheming and backstabbing. And of course the "Who Shot JR?" episode will be remembered as the most watched episode globally in history. I never missed an episode of the old series or the new one either. Quote
Members Buddy2 Posted November 24, 2012 Members Posted November 24, 2012 Larry Hagman and mother, Mary Martin http://media.washtim...6f67bffc77067e8 They only appeared on stage once together...in London when Mary Martin brought over "South Pacific" in the early 1950s. Larry played one of the sailors. As Larry once said jokingly, "A little nepotism, but it got me where I am today!." Of course, Larry really got there on his own, even with a mother, who was very famous in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s.. Quote
Members TampaYankee Posted November 25, 2012 Members Posted November 25, 2012 Would love to have known him in his 'Genie' days, in the biblical sense. Never was into his JR character. He will be missed. Quote
Guest gcursor Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Okay..it was just my "dark sense of humor" BUT when I heard about his death, the first thing I said was "And in another year, we'll find out this was all just a DREAM sequence and NONE of it even happened!" Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 I thought the exact same thing, but I said he would be in the shower. . . Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 With all the talk of Larry Hagman on Dallas, I thought I'd post this clip from "I Dream of Jeannie". This is hilarious. When they got married, Jeannie couldn't be seen in photographs. So it looks like her master is kissing himself or the air. . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI8PtbjM1ew Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Oh my that's the guy you were talking about... I love Jeannie especially her daughter Samatha.. Anyways, I once had dreamed of having an astronaut husband because of him so I guess he influenced my life too.. RIP Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 TNT and the writers of the new Dallas have now decided that episode 8 of the new season will be JR's funeral with a lot of returning characters from the original series. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/10/dallas-j-r-ewing-funeral_n_2274473.html?utm_hp_ref=tv&ncid=edlinkusaolp00000009 Quote
