Yesterday was a really beautiful spring day to be in Rio. Bright sun. a bit of morning chill that brought us up into the low 80's. Enormous surf with strong and long inflows and outflows. Sounds like the guys later in the day/evening at 117. I got too much sun. Fooled me with the chill morning air. Decided along with many others not to bother with renting an umbrella/guarda-sol at Barraca/Tent de Miriam. Big mistake. With a bit of a burn to show for it. Where I remember to put lotion no problem, but at other spots, bit of an owie. The normal vendors were out in force. The Baiana from up the hill at the comunidade/favela above the Texeira de Melo entrance was walking the sands with a cute helper. The salada de frutas "fru-TASSE' guy with the Carmen Miranda rig was there but taking long, long rests with little business as well. The usual acai vendors along with a new beautiful guy in a red sunga. Almost made it worth the 10Reais just to see him squat on his haunches in front of you, displaying hus sweaty inner thighs with the light dusting of hair. Might have tasted as sweet as his custom mixes. There were some Parisian tourists next to us that took turns through the afternoon with the 100Reais massages that lasted well over an hour. As they returned from the massagista's tent, they all looked wasted. I preferred to be wasted from some other activity later on in Gloria.

On the metro from Gal Osorio, ran into four tourists from Wash DC and Seattle Wash. But traveling together. Lindomar and I chatted about old times. He had been here at my home back in 2005. I hadn't realized how long it has been and in comparison to Pablo and Felipe, looking much better with age.
