TotallyOz Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 I just saw the new movie Rambo in the States and it was filed mostly in Thailand. I saw a few places I had seen before and the snake farm outside of Chiang Mai is there as well. The movie really did show the violence against the Burmese people and was VERY graphic. I am not sure an American audience will get the point behind the filming (other than to make money). But, I did see a few interviews with Stallone and he was hoping the film will raise awareness of the plight of the Burmese people. The first opening scene was of the monks marching and deaths last year. The credits are mostly Thai as well. Quote
Guest wowpow Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 Apart from that, was it a good movie? From a brief Google it looks as though it will delight action movie fans and be No 1 movie in the US listings. Not bad for a 62 year old despite the body enhancing drugs found in his bags in Australia.I wonder where I can get some? 27 out of 33 people found the following comment useful:- As good as it gets!!, 25 January 2008 Author: rhapsody-zaman from Bangladesh Just watch it, words don't justify it! People didn't believe Sly still had it, but they were so wrong. After the the great performance at Rocky Balboa I expected another great performance for him. But this was even better than I imagined. You don't have to be an Stallone fan to enjoy this movie. If you like action movies, this one is for you. A word of caution though, this isn't for the light hearted, there are some serious violence in this movie. I am gonna say this is one of the best action movies I have seen in a long time. But you don't have to take my word for it, just watch it. It's better than the previous Rambo films. Expcept for about 15 minutes in the middle, the whole film is action packed. You can't possibly be bored. If you hate action movie or if you have something against violence, this isn't for you. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462499/board/nest/94030156 http://www.burmacampaign.org.uk/ ============== Quote

Guest Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 I enjoyed the movie. I liked all the other ones and I enjoyed this one. Watching it in a NYC audience is always fun as the cheers and yells came out every time Rambo killed a bad guy. The movie was written and directed by Stallone and his acting in it was enjoyable. Not an Oscar but worth a trip to the theatre. Quote
