Guest Marsha Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 As from the 1st of February Guys GoGo will be no more. Kevin, with Marsha by his side, will transform the bar into a unique entertainment complex. The new bar will be called THE BIRDCAGE. Big changes are planned over the next few weeks. There will be 2 shows nightly at 11pm and 12am. This will start from the 1st February. There will be a new Disco area and also a VIP Bar installed. There will also be big cages installed around the bar with Coyote Dancers. Tuk Tuks will be available to pick up customers and drop them of home in the evening. There will also be a lot of other changes, which will keep the customers happy. No corners will be cut. When all the changes have been made, we will announce a grand opening party date with Special guest and brand new shows. Plus a great free buffet. We hope that all the customers that stuck by us since Throb days and also Topman recently will join us in making this great fun place to come to. http://www.birdcagepattaya.com Quote

Guest A Rose By Any Other Name Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Way to go! This bar has GREAT potential. In the days of Lek Boys (the early years), that place was my favortie! And with your expertise coming from Throb -- it'll be number one in no time! Best of luck, TR The Rose Quote
Guest Hedda Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 There will also be big cages installed around the bar with Coyote Dancers. Good grief. That stale retread of an idea has come and gone so many times in the US that it was probably inevitable that it would eventually arrive in dear old Shitsville a 120 years late. "The Bird Cage in Tombstone, Arizona, was named for the 14 Bird Cage Cribs that were suspended from the ceiling overhanging the gambling casino and dance hall. It was the most famous honky-tonk in America between 1881 and 1889. . . The "ladies of the night" piled their trade in the Bird Cages. You may have heard the song "she's only a bird in a gilded cage" which was a very popular song. . . The Bird Cage was open for 9 years, night and day, until it closed in 1889. There were 16 gunfights and the ceiling has over 140 bullet holes." http://www.azoutlawcars.com/tombstone%20second%20page.htm I guess the name's not that bad, considering they could have called it: "Gunfight at the Day/night Corral." What a *********** you are Give us some creative alternative names rather than put shit on someone elses decision. What about Heddas Hopper that would pull the crowd in, so there would be no space left LMTU would post a dozen messages every night like the old days. Maybe water pistols in a sad old queens condo Maybe cream puffs on your patio with Mc Cain your audience is shrinking, you are important in your mind only Stick with the geriatics on your forum please Edited January 23, 2008 by paulg Watch your Language PLEASE Quote
Guest wowpow Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 I feel sure that the real reason for Brits. to choose Birdcage is after the film of that name - an American remake of La Cage aux Folles the deliciously camp French film about and old drag Queen in St Tropez and her boyfriend. Remember the screaming black maid! If you haven't seen this movie do so. Even the sequel was OK. additional: La Cage aux Folles (tr. The Cage of Queens or The Birdcage, lit. The Cage of Crazy Women or The Bird Cage) is a 1978 film adaptation of the 1973 LGBT play by Jean Poiret. It was directed by Édouard Molinaro. Like the play, the film tells the story of a gay couple - Renato, the manager of a Saint-Tropez nightclub featuring drag entertainment, and Albin, his star attraction - and the adventures that ensue when Renato's son brings home his fiance's ultra-conservative parents to meet them. The film won over audiences with its sight gags, uproarious complications, and a tender and touching conclusion. It ran for well over a year at the Paris Theatre, an art house cinema in New York City, as well as theatres throughout the country in both urban and rural areas. For years it remained the most successful foreign film to be released in the United States.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Cage_aux_Folles_(film) Oh quelle surprise! there were two sequels La Cage aux Folles 2 and La Cage aux Folles 3 . Guest LoeplohandNalac Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 We hope this place will be smoke free as of feb. the 17th. Knowing Kevin, We are not so sure about this. Yes the name bird cage is very dated...We would imagine that Marsha ( did she had a sex change ?) could come up with a more up to date name. What about sex4sale? or Thaimeup or Thai'd up..? BUT, good luck with your new adventure.. For sure we would love to see some hot man beiing slaved into cages!! That sounds so good.. What about some hot young farang boys in those cages? Yeh we know its difficult for working (S)perm..its. Quote
Guest wowpow Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 posted by kquill on Sawatdee "Guys,, Mark is in England at the moment so does not know the up to date. To make matters worse, I had my phone taken at a restaurant by a young man whilst I was discussing computer programmes for cashiers! This could not have happened at a worse time. Not to worry, I will be on the same number again, hopefully today. The up to date issue is, that The licenses need to be changed into the new name, Also, the Entertainment license has not been fully granted to the bar, only license applied for by the present owners I along with Tam and my lawyer are meeting the authorities this week,to clear, as Guys has had two problems with the law recently, regards licenses and I am not going to allow it to happen to us, if I can help it. Also, Mark does not return until the second week of February, costumes have to be made ready [ all new] and shows trained up, which is Mark's job, as I am too busy for this. Lastly, we have to form a new company to take over, new stationary with VAT registrations, employ new staff as well as re training some of the old who wish to stay, obtain Landlords permission in writing, [as we have it verbally already] .I have placed monies down,[deposits] with a receipt as a sign of good faith. New signage had to be ordered, new areas formed to adhere to the new laws coming in regards smoking in air conditioned bars, Advertising has to be done with new shows and a grand opening. In my opinion, it will be March 1st, even moving at good speed to ensure the facilities are ready for customers, to the standard we need to achieve to ensure its success." _________________ Quote
