Members JKane Posted September 11, 2012 Members Posted September 11, 2012 I love it! But I'm surprised nobody's brought up that hardcore Republicans are using it as justification to damage that guy's business. Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Well a yelp review like that won't hurt his business at all. There are many people who love to submit unjustified reviews out of spite. What I can't believe is this event was not scripted. It probably was scripted. In that sense, the unrest from republicans can be understood. I don't think Mitt Romney will not have any chance in the presidential election so let them at least vent this way. Republican party needs to change and they will have their chance four years later if they are successful in doing so. Rationality and logic along with morality should guide people's philosophy... I love it! But I'm surprised nobody's brought up that hardcore Republicans are using it as justification to damage that guy's business. Quote
Members JKane Posted September 11, 2012 Members Posted September 11, 2012 Yelp is first and foremost a 5-star system one can judge at a glance, I don't see how you can think a bunch of one star reviews lowering the average to something like 1.5 will not clearly cost him business. Sure, if you dig into it and read each review you may notice something's fishy--but when you're deciding where to go with the mobile app for 5 minutes from now... of course it's going to have an effect! And FUCK the Republicans who all, at their core have this mindset that "you're either with us or you're a commie socialist Muslim TRAITOR". Everybody FALL IN LINE behind the candidate with the most money behind him! THAT is the deserved death of the Republican party! Quote

I actually happen to be familiar with the restaurant. It is patronized mostly by locals, not tourists looking for reviews on yelp, so I doubt that it will have much effect on his business from that direction. And the locals voted for Obama in 2008 by a large margin. Quote
