Gaybutton Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Many of you are probably familiar with the GayRomeo web site at http://www.gayromeo.com . They have published the following open letter: _____ 11 Jan: Is YouTube homophobic? As you might have read on our startpage, we had more trouble with YouTube over Christmas. Our Christmas video and the whole GayRomeo account was – once again - deleted without any prior warning. Unfortunately YouTube hasn’t reacted to any of our inquiries. So we have decided to write an open letter to YouTube. We do not think it is acceptable that YouTube should rate and remove a harmless non-sexual video as “inappropriate” - just because it shows openly gay artists. To draw attention to this situation, we have written an open letter to YouTube and we give you our permission to copy, forward or publish this letter as long as you do not edit or modify the text in any way. Thank you for your support, Mother and her GayRomeo Team Quote
Guest wowpow Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 GayRomeo is not known to me and it is sad that they have had their stuff deleted by Youtube. Are they homophobic or is one Moderator a prude. We will never know. Obviously GayRomeo's thinking of what is allowed and Youtube's differ. I had my account at Google Picasa with 540 photos, painstakingly uploaded, deleted without comment and these sites never respond to any requests for reasons. I also had quite a few photos, which I thought bland, deleted from Photobucket. Again no reply and no sympathy on their forum. These sites are free and can do what they like. Perhaps Youtube is getting so big that it dare not offend anyone especially as the British Royal Household now post there. I rather suspect that Youtube will not be swayed by an open letter and even if they loose all gay postings they will not care a jot. At least on the internet there will always be alternative sites. Guest buckeroo2 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I cannot find the exact info on gayromeo now but I think there are more than 1100 users registered in Pattaya/chonburi - in their online room there are often between 20 - 70 people online in gayromeo.com from Pattaya/Chonburi GayRomeo is not known to me and it is sad that they have had their stuff deleted by Youtube.
