Members Lucky Posted August 23, 2012 Members Posted August 23, 2012 Well, I don't wish happy birthday to dead people, but will note that River Phoenix was born on August 23d, and died at the young age of 23. What a sad loss his death was. But, I can wish Happy Birthday to basketball star Jeremy Lin. And guess what? He, too, is 23 on August 23d. May his future be bright. Quote
Guest FourAces Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 The other night I was watching an interview with a director who purchased Dark Blood. He has been working on finishing the film with the original footage for years and finally has completed it. Here is the trailer ... Quote

Members BigK Posted August 30, 2012 Members Posted August 30, 2012 I had a big crush on River. Would love to see Dark Blood. I never knew that there was an unfinished River Phoenix film out there. Quote

Yep he was in the middle of shooting the film when he died. Such a shame he was so beautiful inside and out. Quote
Members MsGuy Posted August 31, 2012 Members Posted August 31, 2012 Beautiful on the outside (and good acting chops too) but folks who drop dead from a speedball overdose outside a Hollywood nightclub generally have some demons on the inside. I was aware of the movie in a general way and was looking forward to seeing my heartthrob in it. It really pissed me off when he went and offed himself. Such a waste and not 6 months after he gave one of those "high on life" spiels in some magazine interview. Quote
AdamSmith Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Had it bad for him ever since "Stand by Me." (One will someday have to script a pilot for "The Pedo Files." With apologies to Mulder & Scully.) Quote
