Guest EXPAT Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 The big talk on NBC”s presentation day last week at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour was Ryan Murphy’s sitcom, The New Normal. In the series, Book of Mormon’s Andrew Rannells and The Hangover’s Justin Bartha star as gay couple Bryan and David, who decide to father a child through a surrogate (played by Georgia King) who joins them with her precocious daughter (Bebe Wood) and mother (Ellen Barkin) who puts Archie Bunker to shame with her extremely vocal bigotry. Add Real Housewives of Atlanta’s NeNe Leakes and you have one of the riskiest and most potentially offensive series of the new fall season. Quote
Members Suckrates Posted July 30, 2012 Members Posted July 30, 2012 It's a hard sell, but you have Ryan Murphy behind thew project, and a great cast. But still, the subject matter aint mainstream. Ill be watching. We shall see ! Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I've been waiting for another Archie Bunker type character in prime time. They have been too shy to do it for the last 35 years since "All In The Family" aired. Quote
Members JKane Posted August 1, 2012 Members Posted August 1, 2012 Sounds great but it's hard to imagine NBC doing *anything* daring! We shall see... Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 The New Normal continues to up the beefcake quotient, already having added Matt Bomer to a future episode, they've now tappedMark Consuelos and John Stamos for guest spots on the show. Quote

Well I am hoping Mark and John will play Gay Lovers. Delish ! Quote
