Guest EXPAT Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I think this is the first time that the major networks were shut out in the Drama categories for TV Shows. But since the major networks are spending so much time with reality shows and music singing competitions they don't have time nor care about the expensive dramas anymore. Only The Good Wife and Kathy Bates received acting nominations from the major networks in the drama categories. And Kathy Bates show was cancelled even though it was the highest rated NBC drama this year. It's very sad actually. Fortunately there are other networks we can choose to watch these fantastic dramas. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Kathy Griffin tweeted/facebooked about her Emmy Nomination today. Her comment is hilarious: "Got an EMMY nomination! Holy Shitballs! My stand up special "TIRED HOOKER" is nominated for "Outstanding Variety Special". The complete list of nominees is, for some reason, hilarious to me. C'mon, out of this group, don't u want to hear "And the EMMY goes to... TIRED HOOKER!!!" Betty White- 90th Birthday tribute The Kennedy Center Honors Mel Brooks and Dick Cavett Together again Tony Bennett- Duets Kathy Griffin- Tired Hooker" Quote
AdamSmith Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 OK, sorry. It is not world hunger. And I saw the recent note on forum changes coming soon. And of course one could exercise free will (assuming it existed!) and simply avert one's eyes. But just to say: the dedicated forum for this stuff cannot come too soon. Quote

Guest EXPAT Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I'm the most thrilled that Jessica Lange won an Emmy for her role in "American Horror Story". I'm also just as thrilled that Dame Maggie Smith won for her role in "Downton Abbey". I can go to bed now. That was all I really cared about. . . Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I'm also glad that Aaron Paul won for "Breaking Bad". Quote

Members ihpguy Posted September 24, 2012 Members Posted September 24, 2012 Duckie was awarded best lead comedic for his acting, surviving Charlie Sheen or skill in making Asston's atrociousness bearable? Quote
Guest zipperzone Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 All things considered, I think the show was very lack-luster. Jokes not very funny and too many contrived situations. Like when Ellen came onstage with no pants and said not one word When what's his name was talked into faking having passed out The escorting of Jimmy's parents out of the theatre I really thought I had wasted three hours of my life. Guest EXPAT Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Some funny comments from Joan Rivers from her review of the EMMY fashion police. . . Joan Rivers: Nicole Kidman's face has taken more shots (Botox) than Mike Tyson's (worst dressed nominee)! Joan Rivers: Sophia Vergara's boob straps are working harder than Lindsay Lohan's lawyers. Joan Rivers: Sophia's dress was cut so low in the back that if she bent over you could see the latest shipment of Columbian crack. Joan Rivers: There's my Lucy Lui. Her dress has more silver holes than you'll find in a lesbian retirement community. Joan Rivers: Clair Danes was wearing so much yellow it looked like a Chinese foreskin. (OMG) Joan Rivers: I love January Jones. Doesn't she look like a female Tilda Swinton? Joan Rivers: I love Christina Hendricks. She's so old school and chubby. All she needs is a blond wig and she could go be a judge on The Voice. Joan Rivers: I think Portia DeRossi thought it was come as your favorite dildo party. Quote
