TotallyOz Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 I recently got an apartment in NYC and used Amazon.com to pretty much stock the entire apartment from sheets to towels to knives and microwave oven. I ordered my desk and chair from them as well as snack drinks and cereal. It is an amazing selection of goods and services. How they have started renting movies online. This is great for those of you that live in Thailand and want to rent a movie. They use the Unbox Video Player v2.0 which can be downloaded for free. You can then rent movies and tv shows. I am sure their collection will increase as the days continue. I have always used Itunes for everything. Now, there is a nice alternative. But, for those of you interested in USA TV shows, most of them are now on the company website and are available for free download as well. I have friends that live upstairs in my building and don't get cable TV. They love Heroes. Also one of my favorite TV shows. They have watched all the episodes on the network website. It is pretty amazing what is offered now to the public and all of this makes those that live overseas but want to keep in touch with TV shows and movies easily. Quote

I just wonder if the shows can be watched in a foreign country. I was recently in Indonesia and when I tried watching a video clip from NBC I was given a message that "due to copyright laws some video cannot be viewed outside of USA". I don't know how they figured it out that I was surfing the web in another country but it really did block the video. I am in love with the TV series HEROES. Since I will be in Thailand during Season 3, I pray that I can watch the episodes online if they are not being aired on local Thai TV. Quote

The easy way around this is to get a Proxy program that shows your IP in USA. Then, you will have no problem. Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 You can download a BitTorrent Program and then a program called TED, and between the two you can download most if not all of the US Television series. However, with the current strike of the writers, it appears as if the US TV season may well be over. There are few shows that have any new shoes left in the can, and none are being filmed due to the strike. Oh Well, with bit torrent I will have to watch older TV, Australian TV, or something from Europe. Quote
