Members Lucky Posted June 23, 2012 Members Posted June 23, 2012 AP reports: Police say about 50 people threw eggs and plastic bottles of water at about 400 people holding a gay pride parade in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki. Police moved in to restrict the attackers on Saturday, but no injuries were reported. In recent days, Anthimos, the senior Greek Orthodox cleric in Thessaloniki, had publicly criticized the planned gay pride parade. Anthimos, who only uses one name, is known for outspoken speeches on social and political issues. Quote

There were gays in Greece long before there were clerics. I think he should shut his big fat pierogi. Quote

Members lookin Posted June 26, 2012 Members Posted June 26, 2012 Work on the new Thessoloniki subway ground to a temporary halt today when workers found an ancient underground road dating back 1800 years. Paved in marble, the road lies atop a second road that is 500 years older and is believed to mark the route of the first Greek Gay Pride parade held in 300 BC. Guest Hoover42 Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Anthimos the Amenable? Why don't people get nicknames like that these days? Fred Smith? No Frederick the Inconsolable! Quote
