The orignal plan was flying on United from Phoenix to Rio with an hour and 15 minute layover in Houston. The flight left Phoenix on time. It was a sold out flight, but I managed to get an exit row, so it was a little more roomie than regular coach seats. As we were approaching Houston, a sudden, "intense" storm had rolled in, so they announced that we would be forced to circle until the storm passed. Luckily, it was just about 5-10 minutes and we were cleared to land.. First potential obstacle averted. We de-planed and went looking for our next gate. It wasn't in another terminal as expected, but just a few gates away..Things were looking up.. We made it over to that gate, only to find out that the 9:05 deparature was delayed until 10:30. No biggie since it was already about 8:15. We grabbed a snack and waited for boarding time. The time passed pretty quickly and we were allowed to board. I made my way towards my seat and heard the shrill screech of a small baby..Of course, it was coming from the seat directly behind mine..Just my luck..As I got to my row, there was a lady already in the aisle seat next to mine (2:3:2 configuration). She announced that she and her husband had been made to separate their seats. She motioned towards him up a few rows in one of the center 3 seats. I was not about to give up my window seat for "inside aisle". I learned from mistakes before the window gives you something to lean against on overnight flights. They shut the cabin doors on time, and there were still several open seats, so my "next door neighbor" got up and moved elsewhere to be near her husband. SCORE..So now I had two seats to spread out in...As soon as we got airborn, the infant behind me was asleep..He remained asleep until about an hour before landing..So things were most definitely on a postive note. Unfortunately, I was not able to sleep on the flight for more than a couple of minutes, but at least I had room to toss and turn and had no wailing children to pierce the silence. Our projected :945am arrival actually became 10:20am.. so we made up over half of the delay. De-planing and customs went smoothly. No issues there. We had arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport to take us to our apartments. (this was arranged thru the apartment rental agency www.rioapartmentrental.com ) Make sure you do not make it plural, that is a differnt company. We paid $R110, which is about double the cost of a taxi, but the driver was waiting for us in a very nice new Fial SUV, and he knew exactly where to take us.. We made it quickly to our apartment building. It is just a block and a half in from the Copacabana beach, near the Cantagalo metro stop. The "checkin person" was waiting for us to arrive. He took us up to the fourth floor and showed us our apartments. We had wanted to get two separate apartments in the same building so we would be close, but not TOO close. All that had been available were two efficiencies, so we took them.When the door was opened, I felt like i was looking into a closet.. It was tiny. The bathroom was not meant for someone of any size at all..Oh well.. guess more reason not to spend any time in the apartment. Location wasnt bad.. but I would not choose the apartment again.. We had made plans to meet up with Ambassador Tomcal for lunch, so after getting a short guided tour of the immediate neighborhood, we did a quick SSS (Shit, shower and shave), we headed to Ipanema to meet Tomcal at Galittos, my favorite Rotisserie baby chicken place. We made it to the restaurant a few minutes late, but no Tomcal in sight. I had the address of Tomcal's apartment, so we backtracked to his apartment, and Tomcal was still there. I had let him know our flight had been delayed, so he had waited to hear from us before heading out to lunch. We chatted for a few minutes after getting the tour of his apartment.. It was from the same rental agency. He had a very nice two bedroom, two bath unit directly in front of the General Osiris metro stop in Ipanema. I would definitely choose this unit if I was traveling with a friend to share the second bedroom. We headed out for lunch, as Tomcal and my new travel friend, AZdr were getting acquainted. This was AZdr's first time to Rio and the sauna scene, so he was taking full advantage of Ambassador Tomcal's wealth of knowledge. After lunch, we took a leisurely 15 minute walk back to our apartments, with plans to meet up with Tom around 5pm at 117.. Ok, I know NOBODY is overly concerned with the juicy details of the saunas, so I will save the first night details for a little later.. But for FIrecat and a few others, here is a "teaser" pic of one of the twinks from last night. If I didn't know better I'd think you got it out of a magazine. I 'm not making it up when I tell you in 4 trips I never saw anyone close to that type. Keep the pics coming and if you find one that speaks English, I might have to plan a return trip some day. While Lurker was getting acquainted with him, i was at the next table with these two below! all three of them are friends from Belo Horzonte Brazil, which is about 300 miles north of Rio and seems to be where a number of Sauna guys come from. And for all you hungry tops who like twinks.. lets just say that you would most definitely be happy with Diogo. His has a beautiful ass (and everything else) and this statement is coming from someone who usually is more of a bottom. On prior visits, I was not a big fan of Pointe202, as it tended to be older, more musclebound guys with aggressive attitudes. But last nite, it was a very nice mix with a good half dozen of extremely attractive twinks. Of course, Tomcal knew most if not all of them. The weather was windy and rainy most of Thursday..so not much to do in the way of outdoors.... It was a religious hoiiday of some sort, so many of the businesses were closed, including Meio Mundo. So we made plans to meet up with Tomcal at 117 around 5pm. AZdr and I grabbed the subway and headed to meet Tomcal, arriving about 5:15. It turns out we beat Tomcal by about 5 minutes. As we were in the locker room changing, I felt a tap on my shoulder..It was a boy I had seen on my last two trips to Rio. He remembered me and gave me a very nice welcome greeting. He was this really cute short guy. When I first met him two years ago, he had just started working at the sauna.. I had several good to very good programmas with him in the past two trips..I let him know I had just arrived and wanted to relax for awhile, so we (AZdr and I) headed up to the lounge area. AZdr and I have somewhat different tastes and requirements when it comes to sauna boys. He likes them a little bigger, more muscles and a little more "mature" than I generally do.. He saw a very big, muscular guy and before long, his sauna virginity was broken. He returned after his session, and before you could bat an eye, Tomcal had intruduced him to another bigger, muscley guy and off he went again.. Here I was, showing a shy innocent newby around, and he was already ahead 2 boys to my 0...The student was becumming the master. LOL Due to the holiday and the bad weather, 117 wasn;t very busy, so we took off around 7:30 or so, and headed to Pointe. I didn't have real high hopes, except that Tomcal said he had plans to meet a couple of twinks there that night.We walked in, gave AZdr a quick tour. It is not that far from Rio (350 km). Indeed many boys in the sauna in Rio are coming from Minas Gerais (Belo Horizonte is the capital and main city of Minas Gerais). Recently in Boardwalk in Fort Lauderdale, I discussed with one of the cute barmen there. I discovered that he was also from Minas Gerais. The first being with Diogo (see above pic). I would rank him as a 10 out of 10..Fantastic kisser, great lover, voracious bottom....and after he came and we got up from the bed, he pulled me by the hand into the shower to clean up and continue the body contact. The second programma was with another little twink named Thiago. He was shorter, great, compact, completely smooth body. I would rank him a 7 out of 10. He was good. but not great. He wasn't nearly as interactive as Diogo. He wasn't an enthusiastic kisser.. He basically wanted to get sucked and to top. Not a bad programma, but after getting the full package with Diogo, it was just ok. I was not unhappy, but it wasn't one I would do a repeat with. Diogo, on the other hand, is worth many repeats. We are supposed to meet up tonite at Meio Mundo.. Going rates---with both boys, we agreed to R$80. With Diogo, i honestly don't remember if there was negotiations involved or not. With Thiago, he first said R$150 and I laughed and said an emphatic NO.. He came back with R$100, and I told him, I pay R$80. He almost immediately agreed.. With Diogo, i did tip an additional R$20, totalling R$100. That might be a little high for Rio, but he really rocked my world. That is my input on the great rate debate.. They ask for more, but honestly I don't think they expect to get it. just like New car shopping--The sticker says one thing, but do the dealerships really expect anyone to pay that amount? We started out at Meio Mundo.. deinitely the RIo version of a twink sauna.. lots of 18-21 looking guys..Diogo, my favorite guy from night one was there. So I had to repeat with him.. In our first programma, he had been the bottom. This time he was the top. He is equally good at both, although I believe personally he prefers to bottom. Another great programma. At Meio Mundo, the cabines do not have private baths, so you have to go to the communal showers to clean up afterwards. We went down and had a very short wait for a shower. (the showers are immediately outside of the wet and dry saunas, and a lot of the boys use this area to "show off" to prospective clients. Diego got in the first open stall, and motioned for me to join him under the spray of water. This right in front of all the other garotos and clients. THIS is the difference between hiring a gay boy and a gay for pay boy. We soaped each other up and exchanged a few kisses under the shower. One thing I noticed at Meio Mundo this night was there were probably 40 or so boys. It seems like the boys had the clients outnumbered by a good margin. Not sure if the high number of garotos was due to the sauna being closed the previous night for the religious holiday or not, but irregardless, it was good for the client.s. Not too long after that programma, we headed over to the Pointe. At the Pointe, they had a drag and strip show going on. There was a good mix of garotos again, but a couple less twinks than the prior night.Still a good group though. I was still pretty satisfied from Diogo, and no one really "grabbed my eye" and a few grabbed my hand and placed it strategically on a certain HARD body part, so I merely observed the crowds and had some harmless flirting. We left Pointe around 10:30 and headed to Bella Blu for a late dinner. For those of you who havent visited, Rio is much like Europe where people tend to eat dinner very late. Bella Blu is a nice por kilo restaurant, just a few blocks from the Pointe and the old Atlantico Copacabana Hotel. We left the restaurant just in time to catch the last subway of hte night back to our apartment, which was one stop past Sequiera Campos. Today, after again sleeping in, we got up and grabbed a light breakfast across the street at Big Nectar, then took a somewhat leisurely stroll down the street. I had decided that I wanted to pick up a couple of little Brazilian swim trunks for a couple fo boys I know back in Phoenix. Unfortunately, it has been raining almost non-stop since we arrived. It lets up for a couple of minutes at at time, then starts right back up again.I haven't seen the sun yet. Tonite is a big party of Meio Mundo as they are celebrating their 6th Anniversary. Rumor has it that even the owners of The Pointe will be in attendance at Meio Mundo.Should be LOTS of boy and LOTS of clients. Just hope the wait doesnt get too long for cabines.. I have to go get ready for tonite's night of debauchery.. Please post some encouragement for me to continue my journal. It is a little disheartening to see so few replies for my efforts. They were having a 6th Anniversary party, so hopes were high. Arrived around 530.. By 630,there was decent amount of clients, but very few boys.. Just wasnt feeling like it was going to be a good night. More of a socializing type party instead of a hiring type party. So, first Tomcal left, as I was talking with a boy, and I left about 10 minutes later, heading to the next sauna down the subway line, 117.. I got to 117, was just at the front desk getting signed in, when here comes Tomcal, checking out. He reported that there wasnt much going on there either, so I handed my key back to the lady at the desk (yes, to all those who haven't been here, a very nice Lady is usually stationed at the front desk of 117) so out the door and back on the subway to Pointe 202.. For those unfamiliar, of the saunas, Meio Mundo is the furthest away from Copacabana/Ipanema areas, while 117 is the middle distance,and Pointe 202 is in Copacabana area. So we got to the Pointe, where Tomcal had arranged to meet a boy in advance. Tom was "entertaining" his friend, and I was quickly "chatted up" by another young guy. Not exactly my type, but he seemed nice enough and willing to do as asked while in the lounge. We eventually agreed to R$80 and got a cabine. In the cabine, he couldn't get fully hard. He sucked, but not all that well or enthusiastically. I just wasn't really into it as it was progressing. We were laying there, and he was stroking his floppy member, trying to get it hard, when all of a sudden, I felt a spurt on my arm. He had shot his load while not even fully erect. I was, needless to say, not real happy and let him know it. He immediately flipped over, offering up his ass to me.. But at that point, I was done with him.. So I told him that I was not happy and it wasn't really worth the money we agreed upon since he couldnt get hard and he came prematurely. He made some comment about needing viagra or something along those lines, but again offering up his ass. I just got my towel, cleaned up my arm, and let him know I was done. I went ahead and paid him the agreed upon amount, but made it very clear when I handed him the money that I was a good person and a man of my word, otherwise I wouldn't have given him the full amount because he was most definitely not worth it.. anyways.. to backtrack a minute.. when i was catching the subway from Meio mundo to 117, I fell in love with a boy on the subway..I have a pic of him on my phone, if i can figure how to get it uploaded here, I will post it..Just another example of a beautiful twink in Rio.. In my three previous trips, in my experiences, the boys rarely wanted to come, unless you paid more...This trip, however, all but one boy I have been with so far has come without even being told or asked to, and none except for the one "holdout" tonite expected more money for the money shot. I picked up a flier from Pointe 202 tonite.
