Guest jinks Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 My sincere apologies. I shall missed the opening of the new show. This will give you a chance to iron out the bugs before I get there on the 17th. Quote
Guest Marsha Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Due to the Bars being closed on the 14th,15th and 16th December. The New Topman Chippendale show will open on the 18th December at 10.30pm. Hope to see you all there. Quote
Guest wowpow Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 The Chippendales A few days extra for the guys to bulk up at the gym? Quote
Guest buaseng Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Assume that Marsha and Topman are paying royalties to the original Chippendales (which is a registered trade mark - see first photo in Wowpow's post) for use of the name? See also http://www.chippendales.com/trademark.php It could be very expensive if they are not !! Quote
Guest Martelly Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 New show at Topman Man was fab. Packed house with not a seat to be had. Well done to the new boss. Hope someone puts pictures up soon. Nice looking boys Quote
Guest wowpow Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I avoid first nights as the nicotine fug gets too much for the remnants of my lungs. I will be there soon. Everyone reports that it was very good but not like The Chippendales. What was it like? Icon in the early days? Something like Jupiter 2002 at it's best maybe? Did the boys strip a la Full Monty? Guest jinks Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Hope someone puts pictures up soon. Nice looking boys Quote
Guest Marsha Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Thanks guys for the nice comments. The response to the new show in the bar so far has been good and we hope to continue to grow better. We will be replacing the air con over the next few days and adding a couple of extra new units to make it nice and cool. Also the name of the bar will be changed to The Topman Chippendale Show bar. Seating will be updated in low season, but we will keep the old cozy style. Have great programme planned for over the Christmas period. Guest jinks Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I now have the current line up in pictures. Marsha is still recruiting more dancers. Current page :- Topman Chippendales Quote
Guest Martelly Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Thanks Jinks for the pictures. Marsha has turned the Topman show around so quick, the last couple of nights its been packed solid. Good on him. He should now look at changing the gogo boys, they are awful? Could really make big money with the right combination. Quote
Guest buaseng Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I now have the current line up in pictures. I thought this was supposed to be a new and original show?? Judging from the pictures, the show seems to be a re-hash of the old Throb show which Marsha produced, including the cheeky monkeys, Barcelona and several other repeated lip-sync routines. Quote
Guest Marsha Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Buaseng, you are so correct, there are a lot of the Old Throb show numbers as that is what the customers have been asking for. Also there are some of the old Throb team, with 3 new boys in the show and 2 more in training. A full bar speaks volumes. At the moment the showboys are in full training for the Christmas and New Years show, which are all new as stated in my above post. As from January i will also be changing and updating the show as time goes on. Will try and keep the customer happy with new ideas . But staff need training and i will not put half trained and half hash shows on the stage as other bars do, which turn the customers away. Martelly, i agree with you regarding the gogo boys. This will be changing also. I intend to have Coyote Dancers and i hope to have them started soon. Have been talking with the old DJ station dancers in Pattaya, will keep you informed. Look forward to seeing you at Topman Merry Christmas to all Quote
PattayaMale Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 I attended the show on Friday evening. It was great to hear the announcement after the show about the new smoke extractors and 6 new aircons being installed soon. Mark seems to understand that this is an area that really needs attention. The bar was full. I think many came to see what was billed as a good change in Topman. Where I was sitting I heard mixed reviews. Some were saying that the new name seems to have indicated that there would be hot men performing the different dance routines. Some said it was a rehas of what they had seen before. Others seemed to understand that new shows take time to produce as Mark has indicated and werevery happy that there would be changes. (Not everyone reads the forums so probably had not read that Mark had already said that). The fire eater was very good. I noticed that he (thankfully) was very aware of the low hanging decorations. It crossed my mind that if he made a bit of a mistake, Sunee Plaza might have been burnt to the ground which I thought would have pleased some posters But it was a good act I think. I personally did not think the heavy set katoey actor added much. I noticed that many of the Thai boys that accompanied some of the farangs cheered when (s)he did a cartwheel. But I preferred the acts that showed off some of the boys bodies and acting (dancing) talent. I am very tired of the boys being just the background for ladyboy actors. I enjoy the boys being the main focal point. One of my pet peeves is when a bar says a show will start at 10:30 and then delays it for 30 minutes as happened on my visit. I would have stayed at Happy Bar the extra 30 minutes and enjoyed what they offered since the gogo dancers Mark currently has....well Mark has covered that already. I thought that they were delaying the show because the one farang that likes to bring 8 - 10 thai boys to drink with him had a reservation and had not showed up, but that might not have been the reason. I don't kow the gentleman but did notice that he makes sure his group has fun but is very courteous of others that are there to see the show. It will be nice to see the planned changes take place and if the show changes enough to keep the expats of Pattaya happy. I say that because my observation is that Boystown area seems to have more tourist visitors so that group is constantly changing. So a show might not need to change that often. Sunee Plaza area seems to me to be an area that has more of the expats in residence. But Mark knows a hell of alot more than I do about those things and I am sure he has considered all of this. I wonder why the Guys bar in Day Night area didn't recruit Mark (or someone with that type of background) to stage that type of show. It seems to me to be a better place to stage a show. Quote
Guest bizzybody Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Yes I was at the New show last night, I was wondering if it was going to be like many, after the first nights, then next to nothing as before. But No! it was amazing and the room was heaving with customers, I bet they took more money then the others took in a month, I did mention to the owner that the old ugly guys should be gone, apart from may be 2 of them, even if he hired Male models, till he could replace them, to my amazement he totally agreed and has promised to do so. Great show, Great Room fab prices and such a fun guy is that Marsha, give it a try, your be so happy you did. It’s so good; at last we have serious entertainers to run the Club, who knows what customers really want, and bend over backwards to give it. Quote
Guest Martelly Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 Thanks for the info Marsha. Looks like you have everything well in hand. Pattaya Male i also dont know why Marsha did not aproach Guys or Guys approach him. Much better venue and they could really do with his help. The place could be packed out if they had any sence. Yes I was there last night also but had top rush from another Hot party, Marsha gave an outstanding performance, I hope the standard keeps as it is now, its so great as you say before they seemed to do all they could to put customers off, now we have a professional Team running the show, its the place to be, I saw many well know locals faces from town there, its was so good. Even though I have the feeling this place will not be big enough for Marsha as what he really wants to do is on a large scale, if I guess right, he will throw all he has got into this venue, ready for real bigger things in the future and only the customers can benefit from it. Guest jbv Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I was at the show again last night! It was GREAT! I also chatted to a friend of Marsha's, he has some really great ideas about showbuisness in Thailand! He is really happy to be away from boyztown (and kevin!) and he said that he wasn't allowed to show is flair when he was at throb. He also mentioned tv, and says that Marsha is thinking about starting his own show! That would be fantastic! It is really nice to meet someone who is talented, informative and honest in Pattaya! Quote
