Guest EXPAT Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Today, May 22, marks the 20th anniversary of the last Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. No one has come close to his wit and delivery. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/22/johnny-carsons-tonight-show-finale-20-year-anniversary_n_1536012.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000009 Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 And on another note. . .A moment of silence for Eugene J. Polley. You might not know the name, but I bet he's one of your heroes. Polley invented the television remote control, and forever freed children from being told to get up and change the channel for their fathers. He was 96. Quote
Guest FourAces Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Yep he was one of a kind as they say. I do like Jimmy Fallon I think he does a very nice job sitting at the desk ... but another Johnny we probably won't see in the next 20 years, icons are hard to duplicate. Quote
