Guest EXPAT Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 President Obama has mishandled foreign policy in the Middle East, Republican Sen. John McCain said Sunday. In particular, the United States should be putting weapons in the hands of forces opposing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Do you agree? http://www.thedailyb...reign-cred.html I'm not in favor of this constant "war creation" machine. I know there are atrocities going on in Syria against their own people. But often should the US intervene and pick a side and spend billions and billions of our dollars? I really struggle with this because I also believe we don't do it unless their is an oil motive or some other financial incentive and we cover it with a human rights issue. Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Why can't Syria solve their own problems by themselves? Those weapons the US provided turned against the US many times.. I don't get his reasoning for that. It's so near sighted and biased. President Obama has mishandled foreign policy in the Middle East, Republican Sen. John McCain said Sunday. Members MsGuy Posted May 8, 2012 Members Posted May 8, 2012 Out of office pols like to preen in the spotlight, thump their chest and brag how tough they are. Sometimes they sober up once faced with the responsibility of actual command. For instance, I would hope that Romney is as duplicitous about his intent to attack Iran as he is about the rest of his platform. One could hope he is just as duplicitous about his Israeli policy, but that might be asking a little too much. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Romney has made it clear that he wouldn't be making the decision; he said he would always take the opinions of the generals in the field, which of course is such a good mark of a good leader (note sarcasm. . .). . . Quote
