TotallyOz Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I have seen it and really enjoyed it. Funny, great graphics and nice action. I did see the 3D version and the place was packed and all seats were sold out. Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Thanks Oz... I didn't have time today.. Maybe tomorrow... I have seen it and really enjoyed it. Funny, great graphics and nice action. I did see the 3D version and the place was packed and all seats were sold out. Quote
Members JKane Posted May 6, 2012 Members Posted May 6, 2012 I'm looking forward to seeing it, hopefully tomorrow. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I plan to go on Monday now as well. It looks like "The Avengers" took in $200.3 million this weekend in the US. I guess they will make money on this movie. Does that make up for "John Carter"? I plan to rent John Carter as soon as it is available since I missed it in the theatre. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 A Long Island stripper (just for bachelorette parties, no homo!) and bouncer named Steve Romm has been revealed as the green painted body double for The Hulk in The Avengers. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Ellen is in her version of The AVENGERS. . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmHxehj3to8 Quote
Members JKane Posted May 7, 2012 Members Posted May 7, 2012 Really enjoyed it, heard it broke some records too. I saw it in 2D, will probably see again in 3D soon. Batman will probably re-break those records, but I'm looking forward to the Avengers follow-ons. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I'm not convinced that Batman will break records this time. I think the anticipation is not there for as big of an opening as it has been for The Avengers. But I will say there are a number of movies coming out this summer that I can't wait to see including "Snow White and the Huntsman", "Batman", and "Battleship" and others. So it will be a busy movie summer for me. And I will only see them in 2D. The only movie I thought was worth it in 3D was Avatar. So I won't waste my money on it anymore. Quote

Guest EXPAT Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I saw it today. It was really entertaining. I hope all of you stayed for the secret scene at the end of the credits. It seems that Marvel does that in every one of their movies. It always kills me how fast everyone ejects from the theatre when I know there is another scene yet to play. Then I saw Spiderman outside the theatre very sad. See below. . . Quote
Members JKane Posted May 8, 2012 Members Posted May 8, 2012 Seriously Expat, you're THE ONE waiting for Battleship? Quote

Guest hitoallusa Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Isn't innovation great? Imagination combined with technology can do wonderful things like movie like Avengers, create wealth and jobs, and motivate much more people to come up with much more ideas. I hope the escort business heads in that direction too... Something safe and sound with the help from emerging technologies.. I think this review site is a start... We can do it... Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Seriously Expat, you're THE ONE waiting for Battleship? I have a weakness for overt special effects. Plus I can't wait to see Rihanna act. Plus I love the former John Carter actor who is also in Battleship. Quote
Members JKane Posted May 9, 2012 Members Posted May 9, 2012 Ok, I can see where you're coming from, as I obviously have a thing for VFX too. My only concern is that what we've seen from the trailers looks kind of like ILM loaded the files for Transformers, swapped out a couple things and hit re-render... But what they showed of Rihanna's "acting" in the trailers was pretty awful, and I noticed she says one word in the final trailer... too bad there's no 'autotune' for acting! I'd also like to see more of the John Carter actor, though it's hard to imagine seeing *much* more of him than was on the screen for almost every moment of John Carter!! ;o) Quote
caeron Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Saw it tonight in imax 3d. Am a huge Joss Whedon fan and was not disappointed. If you like these kind of movies, you will LOVE this one. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Surprising absolutely no one, The Avengers 2 is in development. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 I thought this was hilarious. And I wouldn't be opposed to the sentiment. . . Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Seriously Expat, you're THE ONE waiting for Battleship? I saw "Battleship" today and I really enjoyed it. Entertainment Weekly actually gave it a B+. it was action packed and full of special effects. Quote
Guest Hoover42 Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 I'd also like to see more of the John Carter actor, though it's hard to imagine seeing *much* more of him than was on the screen for almost every moment of John Carter!! ;o) He'll be wearing more clothes in Battleship, but there's a good chance the clothes will be wet Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 He was naked in one scene in the bathtub but his shirt wasn't off nearly enough in Battleship. By the way this pic is my version of the Avengers. . . Quote
