Guest OCD Posted May 4, 2012 Share Posted May 4, 2012 Hello, my name is OCD. I am new here. I am what my name suggests, so please spare me what I already know about myself. I have been a lurker here for years. Until this new version of MER launched, I was content being just that. A bored lurker. But because of the horrific, long winded, and overly-defined forum descriptions which in turn make the forum home-page a nightmare to read for topics because it drops the main-page into a scrolling nightmare of whats here as opposed to whats not, makes me want to just scream. I can't believe that this has been so over-looked. It's so simple. Simple like this: Redefine the forum definitions in half, or more, and you reduce the space which seperates them from the forum main page. Do we really need soooo much information which defines each forum? The gaps on the forum homepage between forums are because of the long-winded definitions of these forums. Example: Hooboy's forum: Welcome to Hooboy's Pub… Where Everybody knows your screen name... And we are always glad you came! A place for friends and acquaintances to gather for friendly exchanges over a glass or cup of a favored beverage. Open to general topics not covered elsewhere including Current Events. Named in honor of Hooboy, the founder of the MER movement. When you crunch all that information into your forum description to the left, you PUSH EVERYTHING ELSE, below what might be viewed otherwise. Look at these overly informative forum descriptions. Who needs this much information to indicate where we should post? Reduce the size of the forum description, and the main forum page will be greatly enahced to every visitor. This can be done without "programmers" Just cut the forum descriptions in half or by more - and look at how more friendly and tight the forum main page becomes for everyone. Guest OCD Posted May 4, 2012 Share Posted May 4, 2012 If every forum description was like "Latin American men and Destinations" or just a few words more for specification- the complete main page of the forums would be completely in front of the browsers eyes because of it. The forum descriptions which you have to the left of each forum on the main form page are not only tired, boring and long-winded, but they are a reason why people - click away. It never really hit me before, but I have to agree with OCD that the topic descriptions on the main page are a bit much. IMHO, shorten the descriptions on the main forum page, but keep the more detailed descriptions on each individual forum page. Hey, what have we got to lose by trying it? IMHO, shorten the descriptions on the main forum page What needs to be shortened are the descriptions on the "MAIN CATAGORY PAGE" which is the landing page for anyone visiting the FORUMS from any link here or linked from elsewhere.. He spends and reaps great amounts of money based upon his current cyber-related enterprises and his past madam activities in male prostitution. His personally owned and promoted barebacking websites have probably contributed to more HIV infections to our youth and our society than any safer-sex website could ever even counter because of it. TotallyOz will tell you that it is not up to him define what activities allow our community to survive and overcome an epicidemic which killed thousands of us a decade ago. Promoting unsafe sex at the expense of the naive youth of our coummunity and justifying it as a business is reprehensibile. When your own personal life is enriched and made plentiful, on the back of others engaged in unsafe and life-altering activities you become an enemy of the community for your own personal well being, So when people like TotallyOz fail in his escort review website design and forum traffic, it really isn't a big deal to him. He hasn't gone to the bathroom for probably 2 weeks. He's only there because the guy next to him told him that he loved him and did he want to go out on a date? With the Google so widely available to anyone online, I'm clueless, as to why you might feel clueless, about what OCD might mean, when responding to a post. Not only that, but why would you think that OCD, my moniker, was anything more than just that? A moniker. Orange County Diva? For example. Truly, you are walking a slippery slope when you equate mental disabilities with behavorial differences. One might suggest that hiring men & boys for a sexual encounter is a behavioral difference that reflects a mental disability. Would you agree with that?
