TotallyOz Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Charlie, that blue dot is EXACTLY what I've been looking for!! Thank you. But, to the Admins, how in the world would I know to click on that blue dot?? On other sites, that option doesn't appear as a blue dot but has text that clearly states it will direct you to unread threads. I really like the feature but have spent months of frustration on this site because it wasn't OBVIOUS to someone with limited knowledge like me. I am so sorry you were so frustrated for months. I don't spent more than 5 minutes a month on the other site so I don't know any of their features. I also don't know that the software they use. But, I do know that we use the best software and we keep it up to date constantly which is not easy to do. I'll try to know more of the features in the future. My apologies for you inconvenience. Guest CharliePS Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I only discovered it recently when I happened to wonder what the star was for, so I placed the cursor on it, and the pop-up said "Go to next unread post." Then I tried it on the dot and got the same pop-up. Quote

Well, the button you click here to read unread posts is the same size / location as the feature to mark all threads as "read" on the other site. So, you'll hopefully understand why I never used that feature on this site. Perhaps I'm too old to adapt to some of the new sofware packages. But, I'm really not an icon type of guy. I much prefer things that are easy understood and clearly labeled with something more than just a picture. Are any of the software / navigation hints covered in a FAQ area? Quote

Wish I had read that earlier. Lots of good info that would have addressed many of my frustrations with this site.Any reason why it's hidden at the bottom and not clearly displayed on top? Quote

We can choose some settings but things like the Help button location is not a choice an admin has. It is set by default. Quote
