Guest FourAces Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Obviously depending what is causing me to feel down I tend to react in different ways. Many times if I just need to smile I turn to a old standby Chris Rock's concert Bigger & Blacker which was released in 1999. Below is a clip from the concert on racisiom that always puts a smile on my face http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBo7U9RExYQ Quote

Guest Hoover42 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Take four Valium, 4 shots of vodka, and go to bed. Wait, that's a typical night. Double that when I'm depressed. Quote

caeron Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Sparkling wine. Even a cheap Cava can make me feel happy. Quote
Guest CharliePS Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 When I'm down, I go for a hike, a bike ride, or at least a walk around the neighborhood. Depression always seems to trigger my desire for fresh air and exercise. When I am grieving a loss, I head straight for a park or wilderness: trees/grass/rocks/water/mountains/sky are all great comforters for me. Quote
Members RA1 Posted March 30, 2012 Members Posted March 30, 2012 Yes, similarly, when I "slip the surly bonds of earth..." I seem to leave my cares behind. I know they might be still there when I return but a brief but real respite can be most welcome. It is always a pretty day if one can go high enough and get above the clouds. Some days this is not possible but the challenge of flying correctly is always there. Best regards, RA1 Quote
