Guest EXPAT Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 I'm not surprised at all actually. I've been following Jimmy Carter since the beginning and he is very liberal for his Christian upbringing. I think his views are very enlightened as well. He was very much underrated as a president unfortunately, about as over rated as Reagan was. Quote
Members lookin Posted March 20, 2012 Members Posted March 20, 2012 Jimmy Carter has always been the proudest vote I've ever cast. To this day, the man walks his talk. Quote

Especially in light of Reagan's traitorous negotiations with Iran before he won the election to keep holding American hostages until he was sworn in, later paid back with Iran-Contra. But all hail the great savior Reagan! Quote
AdamSmith Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 The Economist, not always big on liberal leftish politicians, consistently expresses fierce admiration for Carter in his post-official capacity. They particularly enjoy reporting whenever he "comforts the afflicted and afflicts the comfortable." Quote
caeron Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 It isn't surprising to me. Carter is an actual Christian. Unlike the majority who use religion to make themselves feel more holy by attacking other people. Quote
