Guest EXPAT
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/06/super-tuesday-2012-results_n_1324709.html This is a pretty good live map of results of Super Tuesday. I'm surprised that it is still completely divisive on the results. This means that this all will continue for weeks to come. That can only be good for the Democrats. However, all seem to agree that once a GOP candidate is selected that the voting base will pool their support. Do you think that will happen this time? Now it looks like Romney has moved ahead in Ohio just barely with 85% votes reporting. . .(11:11PM EST)
Members MsGuy
To the extent that they're driven by anti-Obama sentiment, they'll vote Republican even though they distrust Romney. And just wait until you see the barrage of attack ads in the general election. The superpacs will be battling it out in every swing state. One of the few advantages to living in Mississippi is I won't have to see much of that.
Guest EXPAT
And I hate to say it, but those attack ads seem to be geared toward the uneducated and under informed . . .
Members TampaYankee
Most attack ads are based on spin, lies, and half truths. Thus attack ads are less problematic for the incumbent unless there are pics with a dead women or live boy. He's been in office, people have seen his act. They know him for the boogie man he is or isn't. Not so easy to make up shit about him. Not that they wont try, but this really appeals to be base which won't vote for him anyway. The middle who decides elections either approve or disapprove or like better or worse than the opponent -- the 'devil you know' thing. Members JKane
Damn it all to hell, looks like the circus may finally wind down... Delegate math sidebar on Huffpo says after today: Romney: 403 Frothy: 169 (should be) Neutered: 102 and wacky old coot: 40 1114 needed to win, hopefully even after this spanking the others will just redouble their efforts, their party and country be damned... AdamSmith
Well, as pundits have observed, Newt and Paul will stay in as long as they get paid to do so, each having one extremely affluent backer. Can't recall, but is there also one particular fat cat behind Santorum?
AdamSmith
The Guardian does its usual accurate drollery with today's headline... Super Tuesday: Republicans fail to awake from their nightmare ...and summary of what yesterday did, and didn't, mean: http://m.guardian.co.uk/ms/p/gnm/op/sOB0h8dyo_QJ_ev4Q2pP53Q/view.m?id=15&gid=world/2012/mar/07/super-tuesday-republicans-mitt-romney&cat=world
Guest EXPAT
I love that Guardian headline and represents the accurate situation of the GOP primary. But Sarah Palin said she would gladly run for President if asked at an open convention. ROFLMAO.
Members JKane
Yeah, it may well get worse at the convention, happened to catch Maddow yesterday, she had some interesting demographics on Romney. He needs exactly the demographics of Governor "Trans-Vaginal Probe" to have any chance with the south/the general election...

He needs exactly the demographics of Governor "Trans-Vaginal Probe" to have any chance with the south/the general election... Except the Republicans would rather have him than Obama. So they WILL vote for him in general election. So the real issue for Obama is to make sure the disaffected Democrats get out and vote like they did last time. But if they are so disgruntled with him they might not even vote which would give a win to Romney.
Members JKane
Well if women don't GET THE FUCK OUT and vote in droves they may as well sign up for chastity belts complete with a chain connected to the kitchen sink... \\ Seriously, why are repubs attacking the rights of the majority of the population? THAT IS SO TRUE. I'm still not certain why there aren't marches in the streets against these idiots. Maybe I'm underestimating the public and Obama will win by a landslide. There are just so many people between the two coasts that seem to fall for the Republican rhetoric.

Obamacare, social security and medicare are evil! Even though "Obamacare" has already prevented your insurance from capping your treatment or throwing you off the policy if you get sick, and the last two are good enough for your parents and required for you to have any chance of a secure retirement yourself... VOTE FOR THE GUYS WHO WANT TO GUT THESE THINGS TO GIVE M O R E MONEY TO THE RICH!!! AND THEY DO!!! WTF???
