When Your 7-Year-Old Son Announces, 'I'm Gay' Here's hoping middle and high school don't destroy him! A while back there was a thread on this boy. Personally I have mixed feelings not by how his parents are handling it but whether he is actually gay. Lots of young boys have a crush on a sports star, actor or singer and that does not mean they're gay. I don't think a 7 y/o can much such a pronouncement. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I think the parents did the right thing regardless of his age. And he may or may not be gay but knowing that your parents support you no matter what is the way it should be (as long as what they are supporting is not illegal of course). Quote

Guest hitoallusa Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Well he is only seven and his parents are very irrational in my opinion. For instance, the interpretation of the boy's face expression can be very subjective but they interpret it in only one way. After all he is only seven. I am glad that the kid's parents are open minded in one topic but forcing their interpretations on a seven year old kid and going along with is harmful as well. It's embarrassing to admit but I wanted to be a wonder woman when I was that age and I did wonder woman transformation move but never changed into a beautiful lady. As soon as I realized that nothing happened I went out play with my brothers. The kid doesn't know marriage and responsibilities that come with it. Explaining gay and marriage in such a distorted way is also a bad thing. Let the kid decide as he gets older and wise and nuture in him the ability to think for himself. Quote
