Pattaya Bar News

Unfortunately, the news is not good. This evening I went out for a bit of bar hopping. One bar I like is Siam Boys on Soi Day Night. The bar was open, but all the go-go boys were gone. You can go in for a drink, but other than the doormen and the bartender, there was no one there. I was not able to find out why or whether this is something temporary.

The second piece of bad news is one of my favorite go-go bars, Happy Bar, just outside of Sunee Plaza. It has closed. I ran into a couple of the boys who had worked there. They said the bar will be closed for one month. Later I ran into a friend who usually has reliable information. According to him, the bar is now closed permanently. According to his information, the bar went bankrupt, the boys were not paid, and the owner left the country. I have no way of knowing which story is correct or even if either story is correct, but the bar is closed for whatever reason.

There are 2 bars with similar names and I get them mixed up. Is this the one on Soi Yensabai where the boys dance on tables or the one near Yensabai Condo (old All-boys)?

It's the one on Soi Yensabai, right next to the Family Mart.

Thanks! I also enjoyed that bar and hope it can re-open before my next visit.

Just to be sure, I'm not talking about the old All Boys bar. That bar is still open, although now it has a different name (I forgot the latest name, sorry).

The bar I am talking about is Happy Bar. To make sure everyone familiar with the area knows which bar I'm talking about, if you are inside Sunee Plaza and exit on the Po Pot restaurant side, then to get to Happy Bar you would turn left and walk about a block and a half. It's right next to a Family Mart.

Here's the latest. All Boys most recent name was Hunter Bar. It is still open, but now I see no signs showing a name for the bar at all. Maybe yet another new name is imminent.

I dropped by Siam Boys again last night. They are open, but the whole thing has changed. At the moment they have a grand total of seven go-go boys and none of them are boys who had been working there before. I spoke with the mama-san who told me they are recruiting more boys and that the bar just recently changed ownership.

I received no credible explanation as to what became of all the boys who had been working there and why every one of them are now gone. I asked a few times. Each time I got a different story as to what happened, so at this time your guess is as good as mine.

Personally, I hope Siam Boys will quickly come back to life and will start attracting customers to Soi Day-Night again. Only a few years ago there were several go-go bars on Soi Day-Night. Now there is only one, along with the Butterfly gay karaoke.

The Bank bar is now closed. I was never in there, but I believe it was a karaoke.

There have been rumors that someone is going to reopen the old Lek's Bar, but so far I have seen nothing to indicate that anything at all is going on.

I have always believed that Soi Day-Night has excellent potential, but so far nobody has come up with a formula that attracts much of a customer base.
