Guest EXPAT Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 In addition to the Grammy's in Los Angeles today, the BAFTAs are also going on in London. Guest hitoallusa Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Hugo appeared in my dream today. I don't know why it did. It was nominated the most for the Oscar in the dream. Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Stephen Fry made an excellent host of the BAFTAs. He was hysterical. I really enjoyed watching this for the first time. I don't think these have aired in the US before. "The Artist" really swept all of the awards. Meryl Streep is the only non-"Artist" to win one of the top 4 awards. Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I am so excited for Meryl Streep. I hope she can win the second oscar. I haven't seen The Iron Lady yet. How was it? Guest EXPAT Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 This would be her third Oscar if she wins. She won Best Supporting Actress for Kramer vs. Kramer and Best Actress 29 years ago for Sophie's Choice. Here she is tonight at the BAFTAs in London with a huge smile after winning Best Actress BAFTA. I loved her performance in "The Iron Lady". It was an amazing portrayal of this well-known character. She completely enveloped herself in the role. And by playing a very old woman with dementia she proved that she knew how to do that unlike the awful performances that Leonardo DiCaprio played in "J. Edgar". His performance reminded me of a high school play where kids attempt to play older people. Quote
Guest hitoallusa Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I watched the trailer and I really loved it. I don't have time to go see the movie. I might be able to see it when the DVD comes out Quote
