"Bel Ami" coming soon to a theatre near you

Recommended Posts

Temptation. Seduction. Obsession taglined in this the first poster for "Bel Ami", helmed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod.

Adapted by Rachel Bennette from the short story by Guy de Maupassan, the story follows George Duroy, played by Robert Pattinson, a young journalist who rose from poverty to become one of the most successful men in Paris. He did this by ruthless and calculating bedding of the city's most powerful and glamorous ladies.

"Bel Ami" is a Red Wave production, in association with XIX Film, Protagonist Pictures and RAI Cinema, and opens March 2nd via Columbia Pictures.

What the hell are all the chicks doing in it? Ah, there must be another association I'm unaware of--damn American education!

I've got to start reading the small print. :o

It has nothing to do with the porn company. It's a chronicle of a young man's rise to power in Paris via his manipulation of the city's most influential and wealthy women.

This story has been made into a bunch of movies dating all the way back to 1939. I count 9 different movies about this character in IMDB since 1939.

In case you are interested Bel Ami is now rentable as a theatre release on iTunes for $9.99 which is still a bit cheaper than many theaters. So I just ordered it to watch at home on my big screen. I prefer that anyway with some movies.
