Members Lucky Posted January 30, 2012 Members Posted January 30, 2012 "Lip-sync good" he advises her in advance of her performance at Sunday's national football game. The pop idol went on to advise: "Of course you have to play live but I don’t think you can.” No response from Madonna has yet been heard, but hopefully she will not lip-sync at this national moment of unity over a ball. Members JKane Posted January 31, 2012 Members Posted January 31, 2012 That is pretty snarky, I'd though it was just his kept man throwing shit, hadn't heard Elton going at her himself. I like it! Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 I really think people will be surprised about Madonna's performance. I saw her first in 1993 in Milan, Italy and it was absolutely terrible. She couldn't find a note nor sing live effectively at all. But after her 1996 starring role in "Evita" she definitely got the right vocal coaching. I saw the Confessions Tour and the Sticky & Sweet Tours and they were two of the best concerts I've ever seen. I think the Confessions Tour was probably the best. I've even watched it on DVD several times since it was released. She now sings live and on key and she dances and does an entire exercise routine frankly as part of her performance. They were both absolutely amazing. So I suspect that the mostly straight Superbowl audience remembers her earlier career and haven't really followed her a lot in the last 15 years so I think they will be very surprised. My only disappointment is that she is resorting to bringing in rap and hip hop artists to supplement the songs. I'm not happy about that LAZY trend in pop music and I hope it stops NOW. Fortunately Lady Gaga has not done that yet. Quote
