Guest EXPAT Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/21/opinion/carville-republican-disaster/index.html You've got a great letter from James Carville to the GOP. You have to love his approach. And he's absolutely right. Enjoy the superbowl because that's all you will enjoy for a while. . . Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Here is an interesting OP-ED from the LA Times on Gingrich's "outsider" strategy and how it may work. http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/opinionla/la-ed-gingrich-20120123,0,3296409.story Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Romney is now calling Gingrich dangerous. Obama must be loving this. But given how quickly Americans forget everything put in front of them, it probably won't matter when the nominee is finally selected. Good NYTimes article: http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/01/23/romney-warns-of-october-surprises-if-gingrich-is-nominee/?hp Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Meanwhile the NYTimes posted an OP-Ed today on what the left actually does get right. http://campaignstops.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/01/22/what-the-left-gets-right/?ref=opinion Quote

I couldn't be happier for the GOP as they ride high through this primary season. Over the last three years they've lied, distorted, prevaricated and obstructed to further their own ideological agenda over the interests of the people and the country as a whole. They've embraced wackos either as visionaries or 'useful idiots' to push their agenda. Now the party base has been swept up in the wackos fervor. While the base cannot decide who they favor, they have overwhelmingly decided who they do not favor. Maybe at the end of this raucous road they will come together in a seamless united front. Maybe not. Here's hoping... Quote
