It would have prevented discussion of homosexuality in grades kindergarten through nine. It wouldn't have banned saying the word "gay." The new bill is also just that, a bill proposed by one member of the state senate. He is trying to make it a law that if you point out that the bible says homosexuality is wrong, then you cannot be considered a bully. So if you go up to a gay guy and say that Leviticus bans sleeping with other men, that's okay, unless you are wearing a beard or a tattoo, in which case you are simply a hypocrite.
