Six Years of Male Escort Review and our Forum Contest

Recommended Posts

Posted

It has been 6 years since MaleEscortReview.com opened the website. With the help of many long-term posters, the site was beta tested and launched and has been growing ever since. We are now 6 years old. I am very proud of the way the site has grown over time and developed into what it is today.

In celebration of our 6-year anniversary, we are going to be having a Forum Contest to celebrate the event. From now through May, for every 300 posts a member makes on the MaleEscortReview.com website, you will get your name in a hat. The name that is drawn out will get a $500 US gift certificate. For the member that posts the most during the contest (no matter what that number) you will get a $500 US gift certificate and also qualify for the drawing. And…. as we have been open for 2190 days, the first 3 people (if there are 3) that post 2190 posts during the contest will each receive $500 US gift certificate. In total, there are 5 possible ways to win a $500 US gift certificate: lucky draw, most posts, and posting over the 2190 mark. The last contest was a great deal of fun and the dinner was a real treat. We will again have this drawing in a public place for all those that qualify.

In order to enter the contest, simply post in this thread you are participating or send me a PM. Put your post count for the time you entered in either the post or the PM. Your post count for that day will be recorded and we will then monitor the number of posts you make during the contest. You must make a note here or a PM to let me know you are in for the contest so I can record your numbers.

Moderators are welcome to participate. The only one not involved in the contest me. All others are welcome to join.

Let the Games BEGIN!

Judges decision is final.

To qualify, the posts must be reasonable quality. One or two word posts will not count.

The competition and its rules are subject to change if circumstances are beyond our control.

Contest ends last day of May. Party invitations will be sent out within 10 days of end of contest for those that qualify.

Prize is in US currency.

Good gosh! Much as I'd love a $500 Gift Certificate, it seems I'd have to significantly change my relationship with the MER site in order to get one. And maybe that's the whole point.

I'm starting with 956 posts after five years, although the statistics tell me I've been hitting an average of half a post per day. With 152 days between January 1st and May 31st, normal practices would get me only about 75 posts - not even enough to earn a place in the hat. I'd have to quadruple my output to do that. And, even then, my little slip of parchment could easily end up getting caught somewhere in OZ's hatband.

The most reliable way to snare the five hundred bucks would seem to be getting to 2190 posts as quickly as possible to be among the three shoe-ins. Even if I had all 152 days to achieve that feat, I'd have to post nearly fifteen times a day, or thirty times my present rate. whistle.png

And, if I wanted to have the most posts between now and the end of May, Heaven knows how much I'd have to post, day in and day out, not even stopping to enjoy a little siesta on Cinco de Mayo.

As it's a very rare day when even two interesting and sharable things happen to me, let alone fifteen each and every day, I guess my choices are limited to (1) start sharing things like how often I get up to pee during the night (twice last night, although New Year's Eve itself provided quite a bounty of opportunities for renal relief as the champagne continued to flow well past midnight, as did I), or (2) continue sharing only those rare events that may enlighten or amuse, and remain on the sidelines to cheer on my more prolific fellow-posters.

Right now, I'm leaning toward (2) although, should there be some significant uptick in the quantity and/or quality of events swirling through this rather mundane life of mine, I promise you all will be the first to know. rolleyes.gif

My thinking in saying that I would not join the contest was that I had been encouraging folks to participate, thus, if they did, I shouldn't be the one to interfere with their chances of winning the contest. But, a loyal fan writes me to say that if indeed folks were posting because I had asked them too, my position might be valid. But that's not why they are posting. It's the contest that is motivating the extra posting.

Okay, well, I liked a good contest as much as anyone, and even the $500 seems appealing. So I am starting in at 3440 posts. We'll see if I make 4000. Go Lucky! ^_^

I'm touched by your generosity, hito. :flowers:

I wish I could reciprocate but my winnings are already earmarked for certain SPB college lads needing help with their tuition.

How do you find out what position someone is in?

I wouldn't have any idea if I was first or 50th.

Since you probably never sign out, you do not get to see the stats as to who has the most posts for the day. True enough, MsGuy is only in 7th place for today, but then...

What is wrong with you? Do you think you can just come in here and flip flop like Mitt Romney :D^_^:P

Hehehe...wrong with me? Take a look at who has the most posts today.

You'd flip flop too if it meant that you were going to win!
