TotallyOz
It looks like Tomcal has got the fire brewing again. He started a thread about his next trip to Porto Alegre and I started looking for tickets to go. Now, Lucky says he is in for the ride. Not sure Tomcal meant this as a full out MER weekend, but 2 are for sure and I am 90 percent. Anyone else ready for a romp in Brazil? Porto Alegre with the Brazil Loving Male Escort Review Guys - March 15-19 2012 For those of you that have not seen Tomcals great pics from there, search the threads in the Latin America section of Male Escort Review Forums. Guest tomcal
If you are flying direct into POA from the U.S., American has flights direct to Sao Paulo(GRU) from JFK, MIami and DFW all that arrive in the morning, and you can connect with GOL(www.voegol.com.br)at or TAM (www.tam.com.br) to Porto Alegre which is about a hour and 15 min flight. the GOL counter is next to AA the airport in Sao Paulo. I just booked roundtrip Sao Paulo to Porto Alegre for $132. My flight gets into Sao Paulo at 9:00 a.m. and the GOL flight to P.A. is 11:15 a.m. I have done this combo many times and there is more than enough time if your flight from the U.S. is close to on time. if now there is another flight to P.A. a couple of hours later. Even thou GOL is a alliance partner of AA, trying to book it on one itinerary thru AA never works well, it works better to book the two segments seperately with the two airlines. Members Lucky
Whenever I look at the GOL fare, they seem to be twice what Tomcal finds. I consider myself pretty savvy at finding good fares too. But, we plan to join him in Porto Alegre. I have a relative there who will pass out fliers with tomcal's picture on them at the saunas. It will advise the boys I like, and only them, using a special secret formula, to avoid tomcal until they have had first dibs on me. Otherwise, we would all have to sit around and wait until he had chosen his boy(sss) for the night!
Members Lucky
Tomcal is correct that the airfare is about $132...from Sao Paolo. But, flying to POA out of GIG is more expensive. So we paid $183 each for a round trip from GIG to POA to GRU. That beats the $259 they wanted in August though! We will be in POA Friday afternoon until Monday afternoon. So 3 nights in Rio, 3 nights in Porto Alegre, and one and a half nights in Sao Paolo. I hope Lagoa is not closed on Mondays.
Members Lucky
Hotel rates for this weekend: Sheraton is $166 a night, no breakfast, paid in advance and no refund. Add $30 in taxes Mercure Manhattan is $138 a night with same restrictions..$173 not paid in advance Mercure Beverly Hills is $102 a night with same restrictions..$127 not paid in advance For unrestricted rates, add $44 a night from the first rate given, at the Manhattan, add $53 a night. This rate will also include breakfast. On the unrestricted rate at the Beverly Hills, add $11 pp for breakfast. I couldn't find the rate for the other hotels. Nor could I get the taxes without re-entering all the information. I did discover this hidden information buried in the Sheraton website: Special Offers in Reais Brazilian? TotallyOz
The Holiday Inn is reasonable but I have never known anyone to stay there. It seems close to the sauna but far from the Sheraton.
Guest tomcal
The Holiday Inn is reasonable but I have never known anyone to stay there. It seems close to the sauna but far from the Sheraton. I am not sure where the Holiday is in relation to Mezziniu but You don't want to stay near the sauna! The Mercures and Sheraton are about a 10 min cab ride ($12R) from the sauna. The Mercure BH is a good value and the Sheraton is the nicest!
Members Lucky
The difference between the Beverly Hills and the Sheraton is $200 for the weekend. But, one drawback might be the noise level...if tomcal and company are staying there!

Members Lucky
No one seems to be taking up the invitation, so might as well unpin the thread. With the contest going on, I guess i will report back on what is happening in Porto Alegre!
Guest tomcal
No one seems to be taking up the invitation, so might as well unpin the thread... Lucky with 5 of us on board and usually about 40 guys working on a friday night at Mezziniu, we are at about the right ratio!
TotallyOz
I am never one to fully commit to anything until I get there but I hope to be able to go to this week. My plans are: Rio for 10 days before Porto Alegre for 5 days Sao Paulo for 9 days I used points for all my stays and the only thing I'll pay for is airfare. However, I am staying at Holiday Inn in Porto and would love to know if the Internet there is OK high speed. If I get to go, and that is a big IF, I am very excited! Members Lucky
If you are excited, then so are we. Even if for a big "maybe." I hope that you do make it. I'll be so tired of Bangkok by then!
Members axiom2001
Wow Lucky you guys have fun. Please keep us posted while you are there. Yes, I concur with hitoallusa. But if you do not have the time to keep up posted while you're there, a "detailed update" - would always be in order as well as appreciated when you return! - ...wish I were able to join all of you in your adventures at that time, but unfortunately I am unable to do so! My living vicariously through your reports might suffice this time! -
