Guest lurkerspeaks Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 There has been a sad story in the news the last few days.. A Phoenix-based flight attendant was on a layover in Mexico City. He met/picked up a boy in a bar and took him back to his hotel. The flight attendant, even stopped by the front desk and registered his guest. When Nick, the flight attendant failed to show up for his morning flight, his co-workers sent hotel staff to check his room, and he was found dead, naked and bound on the floor. An arrest has been made. Not alot of details have been released yet, but one version that was up for a short time stated that the suspect was an escort.. I have seen the victim before here in Phoenix. Not sure if it was in a club or else just on a site like adam4adam, but I definitely recognize him. And, on the local news last night, they had an interview with his partner, who it turns out, is a local gogo boy/escort here in town who I have seen dance before. The whole thing is a sad wake up call..no matter how "street smart" you might think you are.. no matter how many of the "right precautions" you might take, any time you are alone with a stranger, things can go wrong.. I am not trying to scare anyone here, just saying, spend a little time in a public place--try to get to know the person first.. and most importantly, always leave a paper trail of who/what/when in case things do go bad... Members RA1 Posted November 2, 2011 Members Posted November 2, 2011 Very sad indeed. And, I know of no way of knowing if the authorities have the correct person in custody or not. How can anyone in the public tell? Of course, the retainee is a previous felon and caught on video but is that conclusive? Good enough for me but then I don't know any of the "hidden" details. Lurker--- How can any of us know what to do in all of the various situations and what good is a paper trail if one is found dead? The best result is the arrest and legal sanction of the perp but how does that help the victim? It obviously might help the next victim but that might be scant consolation to the family and friends of the current one. I am not pointing fingers but merely trying to figure out what the deal is and how we can improve it. Best regards, RA1 Quote
Guest lurkerspeaks Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 the suspect admits to meeting the victim. He admits to hitting the victim. He claims that there was a 15 year old "friend from Phoenix" who was still with the victim when he left..Not sure if the "friend" was a friend of victim or of suspect. Survellance cameras so far have only shown the victim and detained suspect together.. Time will tell..the one thing that got to me was how flippant and arrogant the suspect came across in the video interviews I have seen so far..He appears very smug about the whole thing... Quote
Members axiom2001 Posted November 3, 2011 Members Posted November 3, 2011 I viewed the videoed interview on 11.2.11, and I concur with Lurker. The suspect seemed blase and indifferent about what had occurred; he also uttered words which bordered on his being vindictive because the flight attendant presumably had given a friend of his some sort of disease. All of this, as others have stated, is indeed unfortunate and quite sad, and as Lurker mentioned: try to get to know who you're inviting back to your room if you happen to pick up a guy from a bar or any other place. Recently, I entertained two hot escorts in my rented penthouse while in Buenos Aires. Because I DID NOT know these guys who I contacted or had my amigo do it for me-- my friend was present when the two guys were in my room entertaining and pleasuring me. Before they arrived we agreed that he stay around since neither of us knew anything about these two men other than their advertising on two sites. Quote

Guest lurkerspeaks Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I am sure we will be hearing more details as the case goes to trial. But this case just really struck home with me due to several reasons: 1) as a person who likes to visit Rio and has invited someone back to his room once, it shows that the "registering" of the guest at the frontdesk is not a deterrant if they are truly a bad person. 2) the victim was from my city and in fact I have seen him around. 3) the victim's boyfriend is a dancer in the clubs who I have spoken with on several occasions and even had a lapdance from recently.
