Guest lurkerspeaks Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I tend to cruise Adam4adam when I am bored. They still offer massage and escort ads on the site. Lately, it seems like more of the guys spend the money (small as it might be) to place the "pro" ad, but then don't answer your messages. A4A has the feature where you can track message you send and can see when they have been read. The other day, a new ad appeared for a local 23 yr old latino who was offering massages. The ad was very non-descript and the only pic was a fairly blurry torso. I messaged him, saying that I was interested but he would probably get more business if his ad was a little more indepth of what he was offering and if he had more/better pics. He responded, basically telling me to mind my own business- that he did not ask for my opinion and I shouldn't have given it.. Today, there is another ad from a different guy who offers massage services, but the ad also says to ask about his overnight rate. I messaged him, asking for a little info about his services, what it entailed, was it massage or escort, rates, etc. I told him I was looking for something tonite around 7pm. He read my message, but did not reply at all. In order to message people on a4a, you have to have your own profile, so they can see/read a little about who is messaging them. They can see what you like/dislike, etc, so that eliminates some of the "possible police" scare angle... I just don't get it why they post the ad and then don;t follow thru.. In the first case I mentioned, after a day or so, he added to his profile "I don't work on fat guys or anyone over 55"... Doesn't he realize who the majority of the paying customers are??? Ok.. that is/was my rant for the day.. What grinds your gears??? Quote
Guest EXPAT Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Good topic. I agree about A4A in your comments. But I also realize that many of these guys are not really serious about this service. Many of them are on for short term financial gain and that's it. So I don't think they put much thought into their "service". Just like Craigslist, you get a bunch of short termers. . . I recently had an experience with an experienced escort who cancelled a number of times in a row and I knew that all of the reasons were made up reasons. Why would someone do that? It was obvious to me that the reasons for last minute cancellation were fake and that turned our relationship sour. Wouldn't it just be easier to say, "sorry, I have had to make other plans. I'll be in touch again?". Why is that so difficult? I am assuming in his immature way, he thought he was sparing my feelings by making up another story to hide the fact that he had plans with friends or another client that was paying him more or whatever. But what happened is that he lost a client completely as a result. Quote
