TotallyOz Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Rumors are abuzz in the USA and right now I am in a very Cuban community in NYC. The news is that Castro is dead. No major news agency has reported this officially but if you do a google on Castro you will see many fast breaking stories. When he dies, I wonder how long it will take those that love the Latin guys to pounce on the city. I have tons of friends who go there on a regular basis and who also love Thailand. Once the doors are open to Americans, I wonder what the place will be like. There are many gay boys there for pay and the new influx of tourists may make the cities more like Pattaya. haha Well, not like Pattaya, but more like the saunas in Rio. Quote

What makes you think his brother will be different or American foreign policy will change and relations will be normalized? Quote
Guest tdperhs Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Part of the agreement that ended the Cuban Missile Crisis was that the U.S. would not invade Cuba while Castro was alive. With him gone, it's open season on Cuba. You don't seriously believe Bush would miss his last chance to be a great liberator, do you? Once Cuba is liberated, the descendants of the Batista mob will head back into Havana, kick start the sex trade with some of the less-than-willing country girls, and it will be like the second half of the twentieth century never happened. Guest Steve1903 Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Cuba was "invaded" by the US the minute their lease ran out on Guantanamo Bay. Cuban territory occupied by the US despite numerous requests by Cuba for them to vacate the premises. On the other hand the idea of luscious young Latinos becoming available is certainly mouth-watering.....bring it on. Quote
Guest Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 There are tons of luscious young Cuban boys there now waiting and willing. I have friends that go often and have a marvelous time. The trade has been going on for years and the photos I havve seen are amazing. The guys there are sexy and masculine with rock hard bodies and nice cocks. Rate is a little less than what most pay in Thailand with the Exchange rate for US Dollar so low. Most ask for 20 US for short time. Quote
Guest namjai Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Let's see..."Te quiero desea el tiempo" Cuban for I love you long time? LOL Quote
Guest Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Simple answer to the question posed: No. I tend to agree with you BUT a 2 hour flight as opposed to a 24 hour flight is a big difference for many of us. While not same same, it will be an attractive alternative for many of us. Quote
Gaybutton Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Aren't we jumping the gun a little bit here? If Castro was dead it would be all over the news. I'm not seeing anything on any of the news networks or any of the legitimate news web sites. Castro seems to go on and on forever. Not that I would shed any tears over his death, but so far I haven't seen anything about it. I think most of what is being said above will happen, but not overnight. But I do believe the day will come when Hyman Roth really will be able to say, "Michael, we're bigger than U.S. Steel." Quote
Bob Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Jumping the gun? Probably. But perhaps dreaming is also occuring. If/when Fidel takes a dirt nap, nothing is likely going to change in Cuba for a long time. Fidel has been out of power effectively for a couple of years now and I haven't noticed any difference. When the US lifts the embargo - which I hope they do now let alone after Fidel bites the bullet - then things will start to change but we'll never see anything compared to Thailand there in my opinion. Buddhists may be tolerant but Catholics and commies ain't...hehe. Quote
Gaybutton Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 For the first time, I'm seeing a news item about this on the CNN web site. Here is the URL: http://us.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/americas/08/2...o.ap/index.html Quote
payless Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Why is this message thread not moved out of the Thailand forum? It has absolutely nothing to do with Thailand. Quote
